TC shutdown?

Just read the post from TIB, is he serious? And why is he shutting down if he is?

Yes, he's perfectly serious. He's been doing the round of farewells for several weeks now, and I believe officially shut down all sales as of midnight yesterday. He's also indicated that the shutdown is permanent: no new material will be made, and no old material will be sold. The reasons he's indicated are personal and familial medical.

Hey moderators I have a question. Do you consider the post above to be a flame or flame bait? I do. But if you don't then I can say a lot of similar or even the exact same thing on many other posts. And if you let Talons post stand then you'll equally have to let all of mine stay too. For example I could say that Jeff will continue to ignore all of us 100's of people asking him to take down his banner "until he needs money" and is ready to advertise some new video or some silly update to his site and then all of a sudden he'll hold 2 way conversations again with this community. I think he'll continue to ignore us "until he needs money." So is a post like this acceptable? Thanks ahead of time for your reply.

The demise of Femfeet/realtickling is bad news for tickling fans.

I used to be a member and had a bunch of clips saved before I lost them all when my PC crashed wiped them all. That happened to coincide with the closure of the member site so I never got to download them again. Does this mean that the clips from the member site are all gone for good? That would be tragic. As the site has closed are people allowed to trade or is the archive effectively inaccessible?

By our definition the post could fall into the class we consider flame bait. It's the sort of post that is made to cause the target to attack back and start an argument. So if I wanted to pull it under those rules I could.

We judge them all on a case by case basis. In this one I didn't see it as too much of a problem, so it stayed. We try to err on the side of not pulling stuff.

Would I rather it was not made? Yes. I have no understanding of why a user would bother to make posts like this. To me it seems pointless, and a negative contribution to the community that exists to serve no purpose other then to say "Look how clever I am, I can insult people without being directly rude."

There is a talent to be proud of.

95% of all out moderation work comes from less then 10 members. About the right percentage for a population of our size. Some people in any group will piss on things just to see what happens. As always, our advice is to ignore them. Report it to us and we'll be along with a mop. Just like the folks in a supermarket when a child has a 'little accident'

While Talons comment was clearly negative (and maybe mean-spirited), realtickling is (was) a business, and businesses exist (in simple terms) for the purpose of making money. While the realtickling people may have enjoyed making videos, etc. (a lot), they sold them for the purpose of making a profit.

If the business was profitable, then realtickling could return if they do need money.

Unfortunately, the track record of solefully yours, tickling holly, tj productions, etc. seems to demonstrate that these companies do not return. I try to get their best videos before they disappear (my opinion of 'best' being different from most).

Doing so prevents unfortunate results. I provide what I think a reason might be, after I say that, but I never claim to know. If I did know I would try to speak to the specific individual difficulty which prompted such negative posting. But I don’t. So I don’t.

Of course I don’t ignore you. I’m not a forum user. I’m the forum’s Administrator. As Admin It’s my job to NOT ignore problems. While I can, and do, advise the forums users to ignore negative material and simply report it, I don’t have that luxury. I need to deal with it. If I did not, then I would be failing my job as Admin.

And you got banned for not following the forum’s rules, by attacking folks endlessly, with no support for your arguments. Drive by insults. They serve no purpose but to prompt people to shout back or make people feel bad for talking at all. Utterly unproductive. They remind me of the people who shout rude things as they whip past in a car at 40 miles an hour. If you have a beef, stop the car and have a chat about it to my face. But that would imply that they wanted to do more then dump on someone’s day. They don’t. They are just having ‘fun’. If you have a new valid argument here, take the time to stay in the thread and support it. Make and defend your points. We work to stop drive by insults here, and do act when we see lots of them from one user. With you, it came after more warnings then any person would reasonably expect. It’s just one tool I have to use when every other one seems to not make a difference on a user who will not stay in community bounds. I’ll use the tools I have to maintain the forum as I have been asked to. It’s why I have them. If you dislike my use of them, ask Jeff to remove me. Utopia? An online forum dedicated to a sexual fetish? Not even close. And not my goal. My goal is to provide a place where community members feel welcome to discuss matters without the annoyance of being sniped at or dumped on at every turn. A online behavior that keeps most people from ever joining in. That is my goal, to build a welcoming community here.

The truth hurts? No not really. I quite like the truth. It can be ugly, but it’s always welcome. But someone singing the same note over and over and over is not the truth. It’s annoying and comes to obscure the ability to find truth in time. It’s disruptive to the community, and stifles any real discussion after a point. It’s not truth. It’s shouting. Did the TiB do anything wrong? We had a thread about it that covered the topic ever so well. It’s still out there for people to read and make their own call on. We encourage people to make up your own minds on such things. We don’t need or want every topic about TiB to turn into a attack fest circling this one point.

In other words: Give it a rest. WE KNOW. We read the thread dedicated to the point you keep hammering on. Perhaps some of your other forum mates might like to have a conversation about TiB that doesn’t involve that point. You had your chance, they should get theirs. We work to protect their ability to do that. They are allowed to do that without disruption. It’s also why we advise ignoring such and reporting it, such actions prevent greater disruption of the discussion.

These endless feuds, and attacks, and general level of negativity, that plague this community are seemingly eternal. Bring up person ‘x’ and sure enough slam ‘y’ will follow. “x did y 8 years ago!” “x screwed me 5 years ago over y” “x talked smack about me in 1997”. The fights stop being about stuff, and are now just names and litanies of past slights, real and imagined, magnified by the endless harping. Mention a name and here comes the attack. Round and round it goes. No one ever lets go. They become things unto themselves. It would be nice to see this community grow past them. New bathwater is needed, we are trying to provide it.

If you have a new point to discuss about TiB feel free. Make your case, and support it. You are more then welcome to. But it had best be a new point we’ve not already drug about for a few weeks. Been there done that. Move on.

Hate you? Hardly. If I bothered to hate, I’d reserve it for people I know, who have a real impact on my real life. You are a poster on a forum I happen to be tasked with running. My opinions about you begin and end with each post you make that I’m asked to evaluate, and the pattern of behavior you have built here. I don’t carry them with me when I log off. Hating you would be wasteful of energy better spent on other parts of my life that could benefit from directed emotional attention. I surely hope that you don’t waste any on me or anything here. It’s just a tickling forum after all. Think about it how silly it would be to hate a person over something that was said on a tickling forum. Absurd.

Three words about this.......It's about time!

Myriads, you did that so well, you were to the point, percise and yet you were not nasty about it! I really commend you for how you handle Talons. Seems everyone is afraid to say anything negative about him....yet he can say what he pleases. I know that this will probably get deleted🙁 but I had to speack my peace.

Yet it has managed to turn into a thread with users flaming each other, and insulting the forums staff. This thread has seen 3 post deletions, and 4 moderation evaluations. All on a topic that has nothing to do with the threads started topic. Let's move on people.
