I have uploaded a music file, but it wont play in WMP. It tells me i need a file extention called flac-1.2.1-win I have obtained this extension and unzipped it. How do I apply it to the music file?

That's a weird file... have you tried playing it in a different media player? I find that VLC media player usually has the codecs necessary.

Sounds like a FLAC (free and lossless audio codec, if memory serves) music file. VLC will indeed play it. I tend to prefer VLC over WMP, and I loved WMP for many years. There are ways to install codecs so that WMP will recognize them, but it's honestly better to just install VLC.

For those using WINAMP, there's a FLAC plugin for that too. (http://flac.sourceforge.net)

I like FLAC. Unlike MP3 which discards audio data in order to make really compact files, FLAC merely compresses it. Sounds a lot better in my totally biased opinion. Oh, and it's open-source!
