Terrible Problems Getting Online.

Is anyone else who has Time Warner/AOL in NYC or anywhere, having problems getting online?

The last couple of days. It's been horrible. I often cant get online. Pages say they are loading, and then don't load. I'm kicked off in the middle of the WPVI online news, or while visiting a site, etc.

I know all ISP's have problems at times, but this is far worse than usual.

It must be AOL because I have TWC and I have had no problems the last week.

I guess so. It seems okay now, but its been up and down. I hope it stays okay tonight, so I can watch my favorite show from Philly at 11.

I've been offline for the most part..since Wednesday. Time Warner is pathetic, and I'm in the process of trying to switch.

Its a good thing I got online today.. I was supposed to go to a convention tomorrow, that my district manager has said is now switched to next Tuesday. I wouldn't have known that.

Time Warner sucks. I had with Comcast when I lived in PA.., for ,,. a day, but never five days. Once that' happens, its time to get rid of them for good.

I just happened to run into a service tech from Time Warner in the elevator of my building. He was going to another apartment. Apparently, according to this gentleman, there are a lot of internet problems in my building, and it seems to be a general problem.

Hopefully whatever it is will be fixed for good. This has been going on for a week now.

Anyway,

More problems getting online today. I didn't get online at 6 until the middle of Jim Gardner, and the computer at times doesn't get me online, and freezes.

I called Time Warner, but couldn't get through. When I was able to get back online, I hung up. They talked about some flashing orange light that could be an impediment. It was flashing for a while, and has now stopped. They made it sound like it might be my connection, but I have a feeling it may be a general building or area problem, because I saw the tech guy from Time Warner here, last night I believe. He had been in another apartment.

I wish they would resolve this. It's going on nearly two weeks already, and prevents me from doing my full work, as well as of course social time on line.

My problem seems to be a modem issue, and they cant send a tech here until Thursday., It alternates between being able to be online, and being frozen out. It fades in and out.

Hopefully I can manage to get online at least some for work and forum time. Six days is an outrage to not be able to get a tech here.

Aren't there medications you can take to ensure solid connections and timely data transfer? 🙂

Seriously, Mitch, I hope your Internet access problems are history by the time you read this. (Six days to get a tech in there? WTF?)

kop, thanks. My internet connection actually has improved, thankfully.

I know, it is crazy for it to take six days for them to get a tech in here.

I'm going to have someone come in here to look at it anyway. Luckily.. it will fit into my schedule with work. I have meetings that I must go to between today and Wednesday. On Thursday I can arrange to work at home, unless something unforeseen happens. I want to have someone tell me what's causing the problem, and for them to fix it once and for all.

Problem solved. After a week, Time Warner finally got here. My modem was shot, even though thankfully it had been working better over the past few days.

Stupid thing that the guy didn't even understand: Time Warner was doing general maintainence in my building on the day they scheduled my appointment, and many floors were down. It's up now, and will hopefully stay that way.
