Greetings one and all! I know it's been awhile since I posted my teaser image of the new set...but boy how this freakin' thing took off. This is my most ambitious set since the Auto-X series. I'm not kidding when I say this has given me my fair share of troubles. First off, the detail of the machine itself. Every time I thought it looked good, there was something else.

During the recording of Signals, Geddy Lee of Rush commented that there comes a time with creativity that you just have to say, "It is Finished." George Lucas once said that movies are never finished, they simply escape. I now know exactly what both of these men meant. I could easily still be working on this set for another month. There was something about this set that kept me going past what I should have; a little more here, this isn't good enough, I don't like that. This looks nice, but it could be better. Finally, I had to come to the inevitable point where I took a look at my work and said "You know, you're going to wind up ruining it if you don't stop!" In fact, one of the reasons it took so long is that I had to walk away from it for about ten days and look at it fresh after some time.

This is so complicated, that I still feel it isn't quite...right, but that's probably just me. This is the first set in a series, so there will be more. And, don't be surprised if I take some artistic license and the next set looks somewhat different. This is going to be a weird set. (Also, I will be releasing some of the "cybersketches" from early practice runs...they looked so neat, I couldn't ditch them. Keep your eyes open for those...)

So, here we have the lovely Veronica, the newest girl of mine, who is being used as a test subject for the most insane device I've ever created. Nadya is having a wonderful time teasing our girl by hovering her hands over the "Start" button for awhile as Veronica pleads through the silencing ball-gag. Once the machine starts, it's pure tickle hell for our helpless babe as her body is wracked with sensations. Will she survive? How could it get worse? Would Nadya be so cruel as to use her own hands to add to the tickle torture?

We'll see....

Wow, what a wonderful set of images, great work, Dave! :yowzer: 😀

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

(That was a surprised and happy sounds, in case you were wondering :xpulcy: )

Whoa - Dave. Nice work man. I totally love the new girl. Not just hot but VERY hot, and VERY sexy, and, I trust, VERY VERY VERY ticklish.

The machine looks amazing. And I love the humor you always manage to insert (like the lit signs... lmao).

I especially love the perspective on the last pic in the series. My goodness she has a sweet bod on her :firedevil:firedevil:firedevil

You know what - you and I have to work together on a joint project someime. That would be killer!

Love your work dude!

^^

The fourth shot is the best, great angle, good facial expression.

The Sign behind the lee is great!!

What a great set of images nice work Dave 😀

Outstanding!

The attention to detail in everything that you produce is always top shelf my friend.

What a great set!

I was really happy with the fourth one myself. Funny thing is, that one almost didn't even happen. I had just finished doing all of the post-render work on the other three (which was extensive), when I went back into Poser and started loking at a few things for a next set. I hit the wrong thing, and a camera angle from a previous set had popped up and just happened to work beautifully with this image. I adjusted it a little, made a few lighting changes and voila...

Mils - Thanks, bud. You've been a fan from the start, and I continue to appreciate your support!

Bel - Thank you very much! I am so glad you enjoyed the set.

tommytkl - Wow, haven't seen you around too much since the Football Pool days (bummer I couldn't keep that going, but I think I might bring it back next year.) Thank you for your wonderful comments.

Morandilas - I continue to appreciate your support. You have no idea how much it means to me. I was thinking the same thing that you probably are, that this would have made a really good project, and I almost went that way. Honestly, I had no idea it was going to grow into this monster when I posted the first teaser image, just thought it would be a quick set of images before moving on to something else. Like my garden is currently doing, it grew out of control and now belongs to everyone. (Ask my one neighbor about that metaphor...)

Bandito - Wow! Thank you so very much. Amazing how two people of such diametrically different tastes can be such fans of one another's work. I always look forward to your new material, and also to showing you mine. (Ok, that could have been worded differently, but oh well...:cool2: ) Anyhooo....I've thought often about a collaboration. Don't know how in Hell we'd pull it off, but it is something to seriously think about. And yes, Veronica is VERY ticklish, and VERY hot and VERY much looking forward to more torment...at least that's what I think she's saying...isn't it dear? :devil2:

I hear ya. Although I'm not sure how different our tastes really are. I know you like stricter bondage and more of a sense of torment in your pics, and I go for a lighter, college experimental tickle - but I think the same ideas are still echoed in both our pics ^^

I have no idea how we might ever do a project together, but it'd be tons of fun. Maybe we could do an art trade or something. I'll draw Sara or another of your wonderful characters in a theme of your choosing and vice versa ("vice" hee hee).

Anyway - again - great series.

Can't wait to see the VERY exciting continuation of her tickle torment.

Wonderfully creative!

These are all excellent. The machine is diabolical and the facial expressions are perfect. I particulalrly like the perspectives in the first and fourth drawings. Thanks for sharing!

how in the name of frag did i miss this?!

does this mean you'll be bringing back the render-revolution, Dave?

I really don't check the TMF not often enough... and that way I tend to miss art posts by TMF-only members... luckily I saw this one as I posted my new installment of Worlds Collide.

And I say, Dave, exellent work on this new CGI series! I wonder, what kind of modelling/layout program do you use? I figure it's either Daz studio or Poser, but a lot of the scenery seems custom-made, so I'm kinda curious as to what modelling tools you use. I myself only have experience with Lightwave (and a bit of Maya and 3Dsmax, but that's about it)
Something else that struck me -and that nobody else mentioned- is the lighting and shading. I know from experience that these can be extremely difficult to get exactly right, but nonetheless you've succeeded in getting it just perfect. 🙂
As ever Nadya is the cruel tickler (well she's at the controls anyway)... Perhaps she should meet my own character Kitzalia sometime (though Nadya will be on the receiving end). Hm, yes, I think that's a good idea for the next intallment of my Worlds Collide series 😀

I dont usually comment on artwork. but these are just exceptional, great work and great concept.

Hootus - Another name from the past! Thanks for the comments!

huskys - I'm glad you enjoyed this set!

Augustine - I'm especially grateful that you took the time to comment. I have become a great admirer of your own work, in particular the themes...which, as you can see, are very much in line with my own. One of these days, we must seriously put our heads together on some new and interesting devices.

cloudgazer - I don't think the render-revolution ever went away, it just took a break for awhile. I'm so glad you enjoyed this part of the set.

Scavenger - I really do need to start putting my art on Deviant or something, but I started here, and the TMF is a special place for my stuff. Would be nice to expand a bit though. In answer to your tech question, I use Poser almost exclusively, but my particular brand of CG art requires a ton of post-render work. Unlike 99.9% of artists, I do not use Photoshop, but ArcSoft. Some of this stuff is almost pixel-by-pixel editing and creation. The detailed backgrounds that you see are usually painstakingly made in Poser with "primatives" or other things I've saved, piece by piece. This is why my stuff takes so long. I wish I could work faster! For example, the signs have to be made in ArcSoft, then saved as a jpg, then back over to Poser to apply the jpg as a texture to a one-sided square that has to be placed and lit, then a 3 dimensional square has to be underlayed to give the illusion of a frame. The "backlit" effect is done by tone adjustments in the post-render process. Also, thank you so much for noticing the lighting, it is one of the most important parts of my work and I love it when people notice! Thanks a bunch! (And, I love the Nadya work-up for Worlds Collide! Thank you! I'll have to return the favor)

Uktickler - Thanks for commenting. One of the best things that can happen for me as an artist is to reach someone who does not usually post about art. It means a lot to me, and thanks.

Part II will be coming along. I have just returned from a trip to the mountains that was supposed to be four days and turned into ten! So, I'll probably be working on Part II this week. :triangle:

The detailed backgrounds that you see are usually painstakingly made in Poser with "primatives" or other things I've saved, piece by piece.
You created these detailed settings just using primitives? Incredible! Well, as I do have some experience in 3D I know how much time this takes. I have become more accustomed to 3D modelling in programs like Lightwave, but I recall the early days when I experimented with Bryce3D, trying to put together complex forms, using only primitives and booleans...
The fact that you manage to turn out such high quality images while using the old, hard methods, further increases my awe and respect for your work! 🙂

Thank you for noticing. It certainly is the "old, hard" method. I've never downloaded a hell of a lot of pre-made props or other things. Of course, I have a folder full of clothing stuff and various little shit, but the big stuff I make from mostly primatives and creating my own texture files. So many people abandoned Poser when the newer, shinier stuff came out, but it really is capable of some really cool stuff if you dig deep enough.

Also, for my art, I like to keep it old-school, to a point. For a CG artist, I don't really go for a "photo-realistic" look. I use the tools to create something I try and keep more comic-like. I use exaggerations, overcolor and bizzare lighting techniques to make them, if anything, less-than-realistic. It keeps the "fantasy" aspect of the art, in my own representative opinion.

I'm afriad that if I were to go too far with new tech, I'd sacrifice the essence of what I do, and it might make it something completely different. Changing spots and all that. :triangle:
