Take 1000 and add 40 to it.

 

Now add another 1000.

 

Now add 30.

 

Now add another 1000.

 

Now add 20.

 

Now add another 1000.

 

Now add 10.

Well, the correct answer is actually 4100. Don't believe it? Check with your calculator!

If you got the correct answer the first time, then good for you! If you got 5000, don't worry. You're normal!

I knew the answer was 4100, but my first thought was 5000, even though I knew that was wrong! (I'm a math major, so I don't usually mess up these things.) 😛 Must be the way the test is worded! 😀

The answer is :
This is the only shape that can never fall into the manhole." While a circle will not fit through a hole which is slightly smaller than itself, is it the only shape for which this is true?🙂
