Yes, it's taken a while...(but that's intentional!)
The Camel & Artichoke (aka The Camel aka The Elusive Camel - it's gone through a few name changes in recent years) is a very short walk from Waterloo station.
Since the last T-Party, the pub has introduced live music downstairs so the ambience may be a little louder than before, but other than that, it's the same as before. If you've not heard of this before and are thinking of attending, great! but please read this first:
As regular attendees of the London UKBDSM Munch, LaPixie and myself have experienced the social benefits that a casual gathering can bring. We organise the T-Parties in order for us to meet folks face-to-face, and to give everyone here the opportunity to do the same.
It's not a play party. (we've had to highlight this as some people contacted us and still had the wrong end of the stick!) Just a place for people to meet, enjoy a drink and get to know one another with no pressure, in a public, safe, friendly environment.
Waterloo is an accessible spot for those in London, a direct train link for anyone who would like to travel up from the South and pretty easy to get to via any of the other mainline stations that bring you into London. Plus, it's early in the evening so that folks have a good time to socialise should they need to travel any distance home.
There have been various discussions on UKTF and TMF about who are or aren't invited to play parties. I believe it's to do with who folks know and are comfortable with, understandably. Hopefully this event will bridge the gap, and if you're simply interested in meeting like-minded people this will do that for you too!
But it would of course be great to see some faces turn up - familiar and new, young (18+) and mature, male and female, Top, bottom or switch - to let us know that it would be worth organising a second. There are no rules except the common courtesy that everyone should extend their fellow man/woman, and it may be more comfortable for everyone to know that it's a discreet gathering.
Instead, you'll just have to arrive at the pub, get yourself a drink and head upstairs. I'll be the tall guy, probably dressed in some shade of black and LaPixie will be about a foot below me, possibly adorning peacock feather earrings.
If you'd like to come along, please do post a reply or send us an email so that we have some idea of numbers. The first event had a fabulous 12 attendees.
Ladies and Gents, come and help make this one bigger and better!
