OK all, here's how this works:

I'll start by naming something that happened in 1990. Then the next poster states something that happened in 1991, the next will post a fact from 1992, etc. When we get to 1999, we'll start over again at 1990.


1990: Goodfellas is released in theaters
 
1994 Kurt Cobain killed himself, and OJ Simpson and Al Cowlings led a police chase for 3 hours on TV because he didn't kill his wife, because that's what we all do when we "don't" kill our wife, we run from the cops threatening to kill ourselves. :manicd:

San Francisco 49ers become the first team to win Five Super Bowls, by beating the San Diego Chargers.:couch:
 
1996 Broadcasters and television and PC manufacturers agree on a standard for HDTV (high-definition digital television). YAAAY!
 
1997 - January 26th, the Green Bay Packers win their first Super Bowl in 30 years, defeating the New England Patriots, 35-21.
 
Jack Palance appeared in the movie "City Slickers". 1991.

1992: Riots in Los Angeles following acquittal of police officers in Rodney King case.
 
1993: The Dallas Cowboys win their first Super Bowl in 15 years, hammering the Buffalo Bills 52-17.
 
1994: A strike and lock-out ruin the baseball season; the World Series is not played. :Grrr: :Grrr:
 
1996: Dodgers win the NL Widlcard 😀 but don't reach the World Series. 🙁
 
1997 - Thailand devalues their currency, setting off a chain reaction of financial crises throughout East Asia
 
1998: Bill Clinton is impeached by the House of Representatives on December 19. He will be acquitted by the Senate in 1999.
 
1991 - Cal Ripken wins major league baseball's American League MVP award. Ripken posted a career-best in batting average, home runs and RBI with a .323-34-114 line. He also holds the unusual distinction of winning this award despite having been on a Baltimore Orioles team that was 67-95, 6th place in the American League Eastern division.
 
1992: Nintendo releases The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
 
1993 - This year sees the final in-studio release of Nirvana, with the album "In Utero". Kurt Cobain would be dead by April of the following year.
 
1994: Nintendo calls this year "1994: The Year of the Cartridge".
