The arch of the foot may be overrated as the most ticklish part of the foot, but its hard to argue against it when you really take a look at it. Notice how soft the skin of the arch looks compared to the rest of this lady's sole. How much more tender it looks compared to the rough skin on the rest of the foot. This doesn't necessarily mean her arch will be the most ticklish part of course, but I'm starting to think the smart money is on the arch in most cases. Also if you ask people the most ticklish part of their foot, probably 95% will say the arch or "right in the middle" (I love when they say that lol). I used to think they were just assuming it was their arch because everyone else says the arch. If I was a betting man I think I'd start putting my money on the arch.

i see your point, but it could change due to the tickler and/or the tools being used...
but i know you are correct, the arch is the softest as it is not usually pressed on the ground when you walk...

Yes, some people are more ticklish on their toes, or the balls of their feet, or even the tops of their feet. I think most of the feet folks would know that, and I hear no one preaching "you must tickle the arch of the feet and nothing else". So no, I don't know how the arch is OVERrated.

Yes arches are usually one of the most ticklish parts of the sole but also the balls of the feet(myself) and the sensitive path that connect the two smaller toes with the heel.

I think arches might also have a more subconscious appeal, too, since humans are generally attracted to, or more comfortable with, curve on other humas (as opposed to angles, which is why we find an angry brow with the eyebrows angled down in a scowl to be somewhat of a warning sign).

And the arch is a pretty darn large curve on a body part so small!

Now to touch such a curve, and get a response from that touch - wonderful....

Just at the base of the toes and between the toes are also good since these areas like the arch do not bare as much pressure in walking as the ball and heel. Of course your mileage may vary as some 'lees are most sensitive in the ball of the foot. Proper tools and pressure, a willing 'lee and 'ler, and the beautiful female foot being tickled form a great trifecta.

Ah! It is such a cliche, but I think that my arches are the most ticklish place on my feet Makes me go crazy, reallyy. I think I'd add that the part between my toes is the other worst, maybe even more! Tips of fingers are best for it I think though...never really got the nails...that is just scratchy.
