A somewhat disreputable painter arrives in a new town looking for work. What makes him disreputable is that he thins his paint way down to cut costs. He's gotten this process down so well that when he paints, it looks topnotch and one can't tell the difference...until it rains. But by then he's long gone and unreachable.
The first thing he notices as he's driving through town is that the local Baptist Church is in dire need of a good painting. He meets with the clergy and a deal is struck.
He shows up the next day to the church in his paint-spattered white overalls. He gathers together his ladders, paint rollers, brushes, cans of paint, and of course, the paint thinner. He chuckles to himself, "Hah. These holy rollers are sure going to be in for a surprise next time it rains."
After thinning down his paint he starts. It's a two day job and toward the afternoon of the second day, he sees some storm clouds developing. Nervous, he speeds up the process, painting frantically. He's up on the ladder near the roof when he hears a clap of thunder. "Holy crap, this storm moved in quick!" he thinks, looking up at the sky with growing alarm.
He's finishing up near the roof when it starts to rain. Hard. To his horror the rain begins washing the already dried paint away. People are pointing and reacting with shock. As if this wasn't bad enough, a bolt of lightening hits his ladder, knocking it over. The painter is now hanging from the gutter for dear life.
That's when he heard a voice from Heaven saying,
"REPAINT! AND THIN NO MORE!"
