What was your reaction when you heard the Dixie Chicks? For those who were not aware, the Texas Trio and 4x Grammy Awards winners held a concert before a London, UK crowd, at which Natalie told they crowd "Just to let you know that we are ashamed to be from the same State as George Bush"

Later Natalie said she apologized for what she said and said "The President deserves our respect and support".

Yeah, I wouldn't put too much credence into what either party says, esp. when they are both from Tex-asssssss!!

Don't mess with the Lone Star State, baby. As they say...

Cheers.😀

Yeppers! But why did the Dixie Chicks need to go half-way across the world to make their statement? If they had the courage to stand behind their words, they could have said it here.

When Natalie apologized, she was not really sorry for what she said, or she would not have said it, to start with. She was just sorry that her big mouth cost her some fans.

I'm not a fan of the Dixie Chicks or of country music in general, but I think it's ridiculous some radio stations and fans are boycotting their music because they happen to disagree with Natalie Maine's remarks. It's almost as pointless as renaming french fries "freedom fries," IMHO. People can do what they please, but doing things like throwing away their CD's is nuts.

Eh, I would give it a few days for the whole thing to blow over. People are extremely fickle and have an incredibly lax attention span.

When Junior wants the newest Dixie Chicks CD, his mom will rush right out and buy it, and completely forget she was "boycotting" them.

Besides, if people started to boycott the entertainment industry for every stupid remark said, there'd be no Hollywood, Baseball, Music, or Football.

Pfft

Those girls can't even think for themselves...it's obvious.

Gotta love the 1st Amendment! Say what you want, but if someone dosen't like it, you are turned into a scapegoat.

Yay for the Dixie Chicks!!! I say give em a medal. 🙂 😎 :cool2: :veryhappy :happyfloa

I completely believe that the Dixie Chicks have a right to say what ever they want. That is the beauty of this country.

But people also have right not to buy their music and radio stations have a right not to play the music, if they so choose. It's a two way street.

I agree with their sentiment, W is a complete waste of space

Unfortunately, I don't care much for their remake of Stevie Nick's Landslide. Not they need my help. 5 weeks at # 1. Who knows, maybe they can tour in the new Iraq. lol

LMAO @ your signature pic! 😀

I like the way the sing, don't care about how they feel about Bush... ALTHOUGH I do agree that they should have had the guts to say the exact samething to an audience in USA.

I doubt they would have.

I doubt they would have too. Courage is not one of many people's strong points.

It's like a friend of mine always says, when he is trying to make a point "I can say that I can kick Mike Tyson's ass, I just hope he's not here when I say it".

I just don't understand why she had to go to another country to say that about Bush. Why not here?😕 Guess she didn't have the courage to speak her mind here🙄
