The Legend of BlackDragonScars
The world is full of challenges and rules, some which we must follow and others that we choose to follow. I have lived a life in which I have had to follow lots of rules and guild lines. Being raised in a religious house makes it very hard for one to experience the joys of the world. It is never fun to never be able to go to a sleep over, watch certain movies that everyone talks about, or participates in events or holidays such as Halloween. Here we will journey with a young dragon boy named BlackDragonScars, who is facing just that. We will see how he accomplishes the burdens of his home to become a dragon of destiny.
It was a rainy and stormy day in Dragonia, the mountains were shining brightly as the dragons stayed in their caves, the sound of rain was peaceful and soothing to the ears, and the smell brought calmness to the land. In one cave though, something was different. A loud screeching was heard, and the noise of pain and suffering could be felt as a young IceDragon girl was giving birth. The Healers did their best to keep her at bay, her husband a DarkDragon holding her hand as she continued to push. After many hours of pain a loud scream was heard and a young dragon was born. He was black with small red hair, but there was a problem. He had no crystals on his tail, he did not cry, and something seemed wrong with his arms. The healers examined him closely and went back to the parents. "The child may not make it," one dragon nurse said. "He has a scarred heart, a broken collar bone, and no crystals; he may not make it at all."
The father snarled as he stared at them, "Is there nothing you can do for my son?" he asked.
"We will do our best Draco, but there is no way he will live," said one healer. Draco’s wife Laura held his hand as she looked into his eyes with tears. All the dragons in Draco’s and Laura’s family said a prayer for their little boy and watched as the baby struggled to survive.
The next day something happened that none of the doctors expected, although he still was scarred on his heart, his arms where fine. He was crying loudly and whimpered. A nurse put him into his mother’s arms where he calmed down, snuggled, and curled into his mother warming embrace. "What will you name him Laura?" said Grandpa Leo who had stopped by to see how the boy was doing after hearing his daughter’s news.
"BlackDragonScars will be his name, for his is like his father but with a scarred heart." she said kissing him.
Draco went outside to announce to all Dragonia. "BROTHERS! SISTERS! MY WIFE HAS GIVEN BIRTH TO A BOY HIS NAME IS BLACKDRAGONSCARS!" he proclaimed proudly and let out a large roar while shooting out some black fire.
The dragons below did the same, all roaring and the different colors of fire combined making it look like a rainbow of fire.
Now Black’s parents were of a cult called the Crystallites, they were a fairly open minded cult but there were many things they would not allow, such as magic or fighting. The Crystallites were a peaceful group who would rather reason with others rather than fighting with fist and magic. It was forbidden for anyone in this cult to learn magic or to fight with any kind of weapon or their hands. For years his parents kept him in this cult, teaching the ways of peace and prosperity. Dragons in this cult were known to stay in human form to be able to dwell among the humans without detection. Going into their dragon state was forbidden, for it meant that the child wanted to fight and learn the ways of Dragonia Warriors. Each dragon in Dragonia was also empowered with a certain element, sometimes two or three. When a dragon was of age and had completed the fighting training, they would step on the Elemental Analyzer to see what elemental classes to attend. Black dreamed of becoming one of those dragons, being able to fight and learn magic, but his parents forbid it. Keeping him away from his grandfather was the hardest part because he would secretly teach Black fighting moves now and again. Draco taught the meaning of judging others by character and not by talent and skill, whereas his mother taught him to read and write better than most children could.
His life at school was horrible; he was made fun of because he could not do what everyone else did. His brother and sister dragons Ron and Ashley were the poplar one among the dragon kids. Ashley was the sweet and quiet one who just seemed to be able to draw a crowd easily with her charm and cuteness, while Black’s older brother just seemed to be the poplar one period because everyone liked him. Black was the outcast, mostly because he was not really good at anything besides learning quickly. Because of his cults ways he had no real way of defending himself, which made him an easy target. He was called many names such as “dork”, “stupid”, and he would not amount to nothing, he wasn't even allowed to be called a dragon, and more.
Black’s confidence began to slip the more the verbal abuse continued. The teachers were of no help in defending him, it only made the students hate him more. His grades started to slip and he desperately tried to fit in with the cool kids so he would not be such a wimp. At home it was worse, Black’s mother was strict on keeping good grades, so he was always punished or disciplined for his grades and actions. As Black sat in his room, reading and dreaming about becoming a great warrior and magician, his depression began to set in. For years he struggled in school, with his depression, and eventually suicide.
Over the course of 1600 years he had tried four times to take his life, but always ended up alive in the end. Black began to hate his life and hate everything about it, which soon began to have an effect on him. His parents started to notice a change in his attitude. He was darker, quieter, angrier, and dangerous for he once tried to kill a kid. His dark side was taking affect thanks to him having half of his father’s genes inside him. His skin would turn black as night, his eyes blood red and evil, his hair would go from red to black, and his appearance would change to a leather jacket, black pants, and dark shoes. It would take a lot of comforting to calm Black down in this state, which concerned his parent’s a lot. With his depression getting worse secretly and his parents never really caring about why he was depressed, Black decided it was time for a change, it was time to see what he could do as an actual dragon.
When Black turned 2100 years old he was finally of adult age. He had been drifting away from the cult’s ways for years and was secretly training with his Grandpa Leo, learning the ways of Dragon Fu. This was a martial art created by the dragons using every martial art technique from different concellations. Grandpa Leo was one of the greatest martial artist in all of Dragonia and had trained Black well in the ways of fist and swordsmanship. Leo was so impressed on how fast Black learned and knew he had more potential in him.
“You should go to the Elemental Analyzer to see what elements you possess.” he said. “You should also see what kind of dragon you are as well. You have a lot of talent in you; you just need confidence in yourself.”
“I will grandfather, and thank you for the training and believing in me. I will make everyone proud of me!” said Black with a boost of small confidence.
The next day Black proudly walked into the Temple of Seven to ask the Dragon Counsel for the analyzer to see what kind of dragon he was. The Council agreed to black’s request and set him on the analyzer, but what they saw astounded them. Black’s aura was gold, which is the rarest aura in all of Dragonia.
The only dragon to have that aura was Legendary Dragon God. The Counsel of Seven sat in amazement as Black began to transform into his dragon form. His scales were black as night, his belly as red as rubies, his eyes were as blue as the ocean. Black noticed that he had nine tails as well, a crystal for each element he was able to master. The counsel’s mouths dropped to the floor and they stood up talking among each other.
Just as Black had finished his transformation, his parents came bargaining in, trying to stop Black from doing anything else magical or fighting related. They said it was because the cult would not allow it and he would be kicked out if he continued his crazy behavior. Black looked at his parents with grief and disappointment.
"Mother! Father! You can’t control everything in my life anymore. I am my own man now, it is time that I finally accept who I am and you should too.” Black shouted at his parents.
“You are our son Black! As long as you live under our roof you will do what we say! Is that understood?!” yelled Draco.
“Fine then I won’t be in your house anymore, I will find my own way and prove you all wrong that I am capable of doing much more than you think.” said Black.
A few months later, Black moved away from Dragonia in search of another world that would accept him for who he was and what he could do. Years of searching lead him to the planet Earth. It is here Black went to school among the other children. Black created his own place to live in the sky, secretly watching over all the citizens.
We choose our own destiny and we are not by what our parents think. Yes our parents raise and teach us what we need to know to go on in the world. We love our parents to best and they want what is best for their kids, but there comes a time where parents have to let go and let their children live their lives. I know this because this is what I have gone through for years and I am still struggling with them. To keep myself going I personally will continue to be myself, whether they accept that or not is up to them. Never lose hope, never lose confidence, continue to be yourself, and when our parents see who are, we can prove them wrong.
