Amelia's back! And this time she's fuming! Apparantly a friend, who set her up on a blind date, forgot to mention he did not speak English. Amelia is trying to call this guy and gets one of the lovely recordings that require to dial a number to get it in English. I though the official language was English and apparantly so did Amelia.

or they speak english, like for customer service, yet they ship the jobs to india for cheap labor, so you speak to someone with a very thick indian accent, and i can't understand people on the phone with thick accents.

Tell me about! Everytime the student loan people would call my house abput my payments, some Indian guy was always on the phone. What kinda crap is that. You're die laughing with this story. One time my phone rang and I picked it up and some guy said something in what i think is Spanish. And I'm like what? So I'm trying to get the guy to talk to me in english, but all I got was whatever language he was speaking. After five minutes of asking him if he spoke english, I hung up on him. Sure nuff two secons later, the phone rang again and I'm sure it was the same guy because he was trying to talk to me in his language and I'm telling him I don't understand what he's saying. Please speak English. And he's still talking to me in his own language. So I hung up on him. He didn't call back after that. I swear that guy should not have been left alone on the telephone. I mean if you're going to make a phone call in America at least learn the language first.

You should have said either "No hablo espanol" or "Habla ingles?" I've had that happen before though. What's really bad is the wrong number from someone like that.

Probably, but it caught me off guard and I didn't know how to react. Shouldn't second language be for if you have to travel to another country. Reminds me of that commercial where the guy keeps getting every other bread except wheat because the staff doesn't speak English very well.
