Has anyone seen the new Evil Dead movie? Or even the old one? I watched the old one a while ago, it was pretty good, I'm really excited to see the remake though. It's great for when you just want some gore 😀

I'm officially on strike: I refuse to see any more remakes. So you'll have to let us know how it is. But I love the original. Delightfully low-budget and insane. 😀

I have seen the new one i loved it

The new one is very good technically, but BORING; the characters are so dull you don't care what happens to them and the lifeless script doesn't help. Rent it, don't bother with going to see it.

If it can be fucked up with a remake, rest assured Hollywood is on the job.

Haven't seen it, but plan on it. I love the original, and it's sequels, but I whole hearedly admit to being a devout fan of Bruce Campbell and his mighty chin. That being said, the remake looks good from the trailers and has had solid reviews, so I'll probably end up seeing it before it leaves theaters.

"And remember: shop smart, shop S-Mart!"

The original with Bruce Campbell is a classic. Filled with great lines and some odd humor as well.

I was pleased with the movie until the last 20 minutes. Then I said this film can go to hell.

Campbell, is not that old... And, a remake should have starred him! Maybe, the old guy who moves slow, but the younger crew sets up his punchlines. Screw this remake, and I will wait for the "comfort on my couch" release. Like, Bruce Willis - but Willis is a Hollywood *****, and will stick with his one stupid tag line: "Yippy..." Fuck, who cares...

Yea I agree. :iagree: He is on TV in the show "Burn Notice" if I am not mistaken.

The Evil Dead is a trilogy. The last one Army Of Darkness is a great flick too. With lots of great lines as well.

He probably did not want to promote the movie, because he loves employment.

I liked it. Of course it wasn't nearly as good as the original. The new one was missing one big thing though...BRUCE CAMPBELL!

One of my favourite franchises!

The 2nd one was great, espicially when he was chasing his severed hand lol

i saw the new one two nights ago, pretty badass and lots of gore. overall good movie

I saw the new one, if you're looking for a gore fest, I'd say go ahead. If you're looking for an intelligent plot and good instrumentation of set, I'd say turn away.

I don't like how the female "lead" storyline reads like an anti drug message. I especially don't like how she can be labeled a lead simply for being "last woman standing".

I thought it was dumb any item in the house automatically got designated as a murder weapon.
You're really going to tell me an electric cutting knife is equal in strength to a chainsaw?

I was more afraid from anticipating something actually scary to happen from all the hype than I was of the actual film.

Too much fluff and trying to make everything about super realism, something that is old hat by now in the 2000s, overdone, and not fitting in any capacity of an evil dead film (they HAD to be aware just how much comedy was placed in the campy production of the originals.

This is fresh for a zombie film, but a complete case of the Hershey squirts looking at it in comparison to what used to be a good franchise.

Yeah, sometimes I just crave a good gore-fest. The original didn't have much of a plot so I didn't expect this new one to, but I am looking forward to it.

I liked it, nothing like the original of course, they went all horror/gore, not messing with the original (with cheesiness). There was subtle nods to the original but subtle. Bruce gave his blessing for the film, that's why we went and saw it. Also, stay through the credits, a very pleasant surprise for the old fans of Evil Dead at the end.

As an avid fan of the original trilogy, I felt obligated to go see it in the theater and truth be told I was nit disappointed. My only gripe with the remake is the lack of humor/comedic relief. Like literally zero....none. Granted the first evil dead (the original) was way more horror focused than it's sequels, but it still had some slapstick at least, which is what I always loved about them. All the same it's a pretty solid gore-fest as others have mentioned and I appreciate the fresh spin they put on this classic. You just have to accept that it's not a true remake, but really a homage to the original by utilizing the same setting and (villain/creatures?). Also I wish Bruce had made an appearance, but I understand why they may have thought it best not to.
