Been a while since I attempted an F/M scene; not too bad by my own standards, but I'll probably do a better one soon. Also, hopefully some of you readers out there will pick up on the both subtle, and not-so-subtle nods to other events / lore from the Castlevania games in general.
More comments to be had on my Tumblr page (link in Ch. VI); but enjoy. More to come soon.

Chapter VII: Trapped Within Manor Bernhard
- -
Carrie and Alexandria made their way through the remainder of the rose maze somehow. As they reached a door on the side of the large manor, Alexandria noted a sign next to it reading “Servant’s Entrance” The two looked at each other as Allie knocked on the door.
A few seconds later, it opened, revealing a young girl. She was maybe a few years older than the both of them; she had chestnut brown hair that fell to her shoulders.
“….Yes? Can I… help you two?” she spoke, looking them over. Alexandria began, “Hopefully you can, miss. I’m Alexandria Duraie, and this is Carrie Fernandez—” she spoke, watching the girl’s expression change. “We’re travellers seeking information. We heard that the lord of this manor might be able to help us….” her voice trailed off as she turned towards Carrie. “You see, we’re looking for information about the disappearances of a number of missing woman around the area here. We’ve been sent by the church to find out whether or not Count Dracula has returned; and if he’s responsible for their disappearances.”
As she spoke of Dracula, she could see the girl’s eyes light up. “Yes… Dracula… I see.”
The girl ushered to another person inside. “Unfortunately, the lord of this manor passed just a month ago… so now his widow oversees the manor.” she started, ushering the two inside. The girls wore the same maid outfit; the other one took their cloaks and hung them on a nearby rack. The other maid had long, platinum blonde hair, and wore it in a ponytail.
My name is Isabella, and this is Clara; the first girl spoke, giving them a slight bow.
As Clara was hanging their cloaks, Carrie noticed Isabella eyeing her and Alexandria once more. “Uhm… Is there something… wrong?” she asked, facing the girl. “N-No! Of course not; it’s just…. we don’t get many visitors out here anymore…” her voice trailing off as Clara returned to her side. Alexandria noticed they could almost pass for being sisters; they even had the same shade of blue eyes. “We’ll return shortly with the lady of the manor…. Please don’t go anywhere until we return to collect you.” Clara said, sounding timid; and the two turned and began leaving.
Alexandria ran after them, “Wait! There’s another with us; he’s looking for an exit to the hedge maze outside.” Clara stopped as Isabella went on ahead. “We’ll inform the mistress; she’ll send someone to collect him.” she spoke, continuing on and leaving. Alexandria and Carrie watched the door close after them, the echo of their shoes growing fainter and fainter with each step…

The sound of heavy rain echoed throughout the manor; the moon slowly beginning it’s journey to the heavens.
“Leon…. Aulin.. was it?” a woman asked, raising a curious eyebrow towards him.
The man scowled, ignoring her question. “….What have you done with William?”
“… Ha… Ah Ha! You mean the other fool we found with you in the catacombs?” spoke the woman, bringing her hand to her face. “What difference does it make now, Leon? His fate is intertwined with your own; you two shall be charming additions to the other’s here in this manor…” she spoke again, waving his glare off with her hand as her laughter renewed.
Leon struggled against the bonds holding him to the wall; if only he had an arm free!
“… Don’t think you’ve won just yet, Lanette. It’s only a matter of time before someone else arrives in this… godforsaken place!” he barked; struggling once more. He watched as the raven haired beauty walked towards him, her heels clicking through the rug on the wooden floor. She raised a hand to his face and parted the long, black hair from his eyes; as her fingers trailed down his cheek, to his neck. “Oh Leon… so naive… The only people who would venture here would be fools with the wish to die. Why can’t you accept this? There is no one coming to rescue William, or yourself!” she chuckled, gazing deeply into his eyes.
He could feel the powers of her hypnotism trying to pierce his soul. She ran her fingers across his chin and made him look at her. “Why don’t you just give in Leon… surely the thought of being immortal doesn’t entice you? What if you could spend the rest of your days by my side? We could rule this land under the will of Dracula. What other option for you is there?”
He watched her, staring into her eyes; though she was not able to overpower his will.
“I told you once Lanette, and I’ll tell you once more; my answer is no. I’d rather die than become a vampire such as yourself.”
Behind them, the door slowly opened as Isabella’s figure came into the room.
Lanette slowly turned away, before Leon felt the sting of her slap across his face. She started away towards Isabella as she turned to face him once more. “Fool! If that is the case, then maybe a few days of solitude will change your mind!” she barked, turning around and exiting the room as Isabella followed at her heels.
As the two left, Lanette tossed Isabella the key to Leon’s room, hearing the lock snick. “Mistress Lanette; I have urgent news for you!” the girl spoke, quickly running to her side as they walked up the stairs; towards Lanette’s quarters on the third floor of the manor. Once arriving, they ventured inside, and Lanette threw herself onto the bed, closing her eyes. “Speak child, I’m not in the mood for games…” she muttered, pulling a pillow towards herself.
“Two young women have arrived at the manor. They seek knowledge about Count Dracula’s wherabouts from you; what would you have us do with them, Mistress?” Lanette grinned and opened an eye towards Isabella. “So… the fool was right…” she chuckled; beconing Isabella closer with her index finger. Lanette moved towards the edge of the bed; “I’m feeling tired; be a good girl and help me out, would you?” she spoke, watching the girl happily oblige, raising her arms.
Lanette sighed and placed her fingers on the girl’s smooth underarms, beginning to tickle her. Isabella could barely hold back her laughter as Lanette tickled up and down her body. “That’s it…. just try and resist; it makes the energy so much sweeter…” she teased, watching Isabella shut her eyes as she found a particularly sensitive spot near her breasts. Isabella couldn’t hold back her laughter any longer as she began cackling, trying especially hard not to pull her arms down. Lanette could feel the energy seeping into her fingertips as she continued to tickle the poor girl, watching tears beginning to form from at the corner’s of her eyes.
“Don’t even think about pulling those arms down, Isabella; or am I going to have to make an example out of you again like I did last time?” Isabella shook her head and cackled with laughter, “Nohohoho!!!! I wohohon’t, I sweahahahahaeer!!!” Clara silently entered the room, shutting the door behind her, as she watched the woman torturing Isabella.
She was thankful it wasn’t her being tickled this time, but she couldn’t help but feel slightly jealous of her Mistress. She was still getting used to seeing this almost daily ritual between Lanette and another member of her servants.
“It is one thing to drain the blood of a human for energy; but you can only drain so much before they die. Laughter… on the other hand, was never in short supply; and you can learn to harness it without causing harm. Making a victim laugh increases their nerve sensitivity; and in-turn, causes a flareup in their aura; or magical willpower. It is this magic that vampires rely on to be able to fuel their own powers; and without it, we’re nothing but a demon with fangs…. So naturally, we can learn to harness this untapped power through our fingers; it’s one of the first things to master when when you become one… Since Vampires dispell energy through their hands when using their spells; they can also learn to take in the energy through the same method.” Clara thought; remembering the words Vayne told her when she had first…. changed. Lanette threw Isabella to the bed and began tickling around her hips; causing the girl’s laughter to reach an even higher level.
Her hands moved across Isabella’s body in a very particular way; Clara could see the red aura surrounding them as she moved along the other girl’s sides. It was growing larger by the minute. She turned away and looked towards the mirror against the wall. She still hadn’t gotten used to not seeing her reflection anymore; something she would have to live with as long as she drew breath. Listenting to Isabella’s cackles and cries made Clara begin to get fidgety. She looked back and saw Lanette had just about had her fill with the poor girl, as she finally ended the ticklish assault and licked her lips.
“Of course… if you were to tickle the energy from another vampire…. it’s supposed to be much more satisfying than simply draining it from a human…” she remembered, watching Isabella rise up on shaky legs. “Mmmm…. yes… that’s much better! Thank you Isabella.” she spoke, walking towards her bathroom and gazing into her magical mirror to check herself.
“Y…You’re… W…Welcome Mistress…” the young girl replied, trying to regain her composure. Lanette returned; “Now that I’m feeling better, why don’t I go… entertain our guests?” she spoke, eliciting a laugh. “But… Mis…Mistress… they said that there’s another… in.. in the garden.” Lanette turned towards Isabella; “Oh really now? Why don’t you just go and release the hounds from captivity then? I’m sure they wouldn’t mind having a meal…” she replied, walking towards Clara. “And you; Clara. Go fetch our guests. I’d like to have a few words with them before I decide on what their fates shall be…” she laughed again, leaving the room. Isabella slowly made her way over to Clara. “I’m so hungry… I wish Mistress Lanette would let me at that Leon person….” she muttered, looking at her. “Here… just so I’m not tempted, hang onto this; it’s the key to his room. Mistress forgot to take it when she had me lock him up.” she spoke, quitely exiting the room as she made her way towards the kennel.
Clara pocketed the key and made her way back to the servant’s quarters, she could feel her hunger welling up inside the more she thought about Carrie and Alexandria. As she made her way down the staircase, she passed Rosa; the latter turning and giving her a smile. “Are you alright Clara? You don’t seem that well… is something the matter?” the woman asked, as a flash of lightning illuminated the sky behind her.
Clara looked at Rosa and sighed. “I… I’m just hungry, that’s all. I came in on the Mistress feeding off of Isabella, and I couldn’t help but feel jealous… Plus, I have to go collect the two travelers that showed up a little while ago.” Rosa raised a hand and gently parted the hair from in front of her face; “Don’t worry Clara… you’ll get your turn tonight; of that I’m sure. Just have faith.” Rosa replied, giving her a soft kiss on the forehead before starting again on her way.
Clara watched the woman walk down the corridor towards the garden on the right side of the wing; her red dress swishing above her ankles as she walked. She could always be found there watering the flowers inside. Lanette had a soft spot for beautiful foliage, so Rosa was in charge of tending to the manors small; but lavish garden. Of course, she was a vampire as well; but she seemed to rarely ever feed.
“Unlike Lanette who simply feeds for the sake of tormenting others…”
Clara continued on, brushing her thoughts aside as she made it back to where the girls were. She opened the door and watched as the girls stood. “Y-Yes… the Mistress will see you two now. Please, f-follow me.” her voice quavering slightly as she eyed the girls. Oh, how she would love to feed on the two’s energy; but Lanette would put her in the stocks for a week straight if she did. The two followed her down the corridor, passing several rooms as Clara opened two ornate, double doors before them. “Please, wait inside..” she spoke, quickly ushering them inside before she gave into her cravings.
The two did as she said, and she closed the door behind them. She settled against the doors and let out an exhasperated sigh. Gathering her thoughts, she proceeded towards the room where Leon was being held in. Clara quickly made sure no one was around before opening the door and going inside, locking it behind her.
Leon slowly turned towards her and chuckled; watching the girl cautiously step forward; as if she were expecting some sort of trap to be set off.
“If you’re here to persuade me, then you’re wasting your time. I already gave Lanette my answer.” he spoke, turning his head away from Clara. She could feel her urges becoming stronger and stronger, as she stepped in front of him. “N…No… I’m not here for that, sir…” she uttered; sounding very timid and embarassed. He watched her as she hung her head. “Well, what brings you here then? It can’t be for conversation I take it. Maybe you’re here to turn me into a creature of darkness?”
She quickly looked towards him with concern in her eyes, “No! I mean… I can’t do that. The Mistress would kill me if I even though about turning you!” she cried, brining her hands to her face. As she looked him over, she couldn’t help but admire his good looks. “Well, then what? Are you here to drain my energy again like she has? If you are, then go ahead; it’s not like I can stop you anyway.” he replied, tugging on his restraints to show her what he meant.
Clara slowly raised her hands towards his shirt to unbutton it, but stopped; feeling his cold gaze pierce through her. “Sir… I…I’m sorry..” she muttered, turning away while she unbuttoned him. Leon simply sighed, resting his head against the wall in preparation for what was to come. “You know… this is the first time I’ve ever had a demon call me sir…” he chuckled.
Clara could feel her spine begin to tingle as the pangs within her soul continued to increase. She finished unbuttoning his jacket and shirt as she pulled them aside; biting her lip slightly as she looked over his bare chest. He was well defined, and full of color; although she wasn’t too surprised. He was a hunter though; always on the move...
Leon simply closed his eyes and sighed; waiting for what lie ahead. “Brauner could have told me about this when I questioned him. Blood sucking, I can believe, but tickling? I still don’t know how they can draw energy from it… perhaps I’ll never know. I’ll have to remember to pay the old man another visit, should I get out of this place.” he thought, flinching at the girl’s cold hands as she rested them against his sides. “Please don’t think ill of me sir; I just can’t fight the feelings anymore..” she muttered, looking up towards him as she began to dig into his sides.
At first, there was no reaction as her fingers danced along his sides. He simply shut his eyes and tried to ignore the sensations.
This made Clara worry as she moved up towards his underarms. She could see a slight smile beginning to break out across the young man’s face as she danced her fingertips this way and that. As she continued, she could see the red aura beginning to take form around her hands; much like Lanette’s had earlier. She decided to go back down, wriggling her fingers across his lower stomach; and finally he began to laugh.
He couldn’t ignore the sensations any longer as his deep voice echoed throughout the room.
“Yes… please.. laugh for me..” she thought; watching the aura begin to glow a little brighter. Clara could feel his energy begin to permeate through her; what little that did already started putting her into an almost euphoric state of mind. She could feel herself becoming less tired, and her body absent of whatever aches were present before. Leon opened an eye as he continued to laugh, watching Clara’s expression begin to change; a smile began to appear across her face. “Of cohohourse she had to be smiling!!” he thought, shaking his head as she went back to his underarms.
“Hhahahaaven’t you hahaad enough yehehehet!?!” he yelled, pulling against his bonds as she tickled near his pectorals. “No… I… I need.. more….” she spoke, her voice sounding empty and lifeless. Her vampiric urges were beginning to take control of her mind as she began digging into his sides. She couldn’t help but lick her lips as he began to howl, struggling greatly against her ticklish enslaught. She stood on tiptoes to reach his ear, “Oh sir… What’s the matter..?” she whispered, gently tugging on his ear with her teeth. He could barely open his eyes as tears began to obscure his vision; but what he saw greatly concerned him. Her canine teeth began to grow slightly; he doubted that she originally meant to turn him, but from the looks of things, he felt that he was in danger now. “Wahahaat are you dohohooing!? Stahahap tihihickling meheehee!!!” he yelled; his voice booming as he shook his head from side to side.
Clara finally began to understand why Lanette tortured her servants so much; this energy she was absorbing was incredible!
Yet… yet she wanted… something more.
She chuckled slightly, looking at the poor man struggling against the wall. He eyes trailed down until they reached his privates; she could see a slight bulge showing itself. She retracted one of her hands and placed it over his crotch; beginning to rub his erection through his pants. Leon began to moan slightly between all of his laughter. “Leon—” she whispered, her breath warm against his neck. “— I want more than just tickling… yes… I think that it’s a good bet that you do as well. Why don’t you stop this struggling, and I’ll show you what I can really do, hmm?” she cooed, smiling seductively as he looked towards her. She slowed her tickling as she began to tease her fingers up and down his stiff erection; waiting for his response. “Uhn…. Do… Do me a favor…” he whispered, watching as she leaned in closer, licking her lips.
His expression changed from one of lust, to one of anger as he barked at her, “Get bent!”
She retracted back, not expecting this; quickly grabbing him by his jacket collar, she thrusted him against the wall as she pressed herself against him. “You’d turn this body down, fool!? I can see now why Lanette condemned you to die!!” She barred her fangs and continued; he could see her eyes glowing red— “Maybe I’ll save her the trouble and just turn you now. You wouldn’t be able to resist me if I made you my—”
“CLARA!! What are you DOING!?!” a man’s voice shouted, stirring the girl from her speech.
She quickly retracted and turned around, facing the man. “Vayne!? I… I’m… this isn’t…” she babbled; Leon could see that she was coming back around to her senses.
The girl took a step back before Vayne grabbed her by the collar and slammed her against the wall next to Leon. She looked absolutely terrified as she stared the older vampire in the eyes.
“You test my patience girl; you know you aren’t supposed to be in here; yet, here you stand. Explain yourself! NOW!” he yelled, feeling her begin to shake.
“I… I…..” she turned towards Leon; remembering what had happened. He looked at her with contempt as she started to breakout in sobs. “I’m s-sorry!! I don’t k-know what came o-over m..me…” she cried, feeling the hot tears roll down her cheeks. “I just w-wanted to… to f-feed.” she quipped, looking back to Vayne with teary eyes. He could tell the girl’s words were true, so he set her back onto her feet. With a sigh, he crossed his arms and turned away.
“Clara… You know that you haven’t mastered the art of absorbtion I told you about. If you don’t learn how to keep your mind in check while you’re draining a victim; the inflow of aura into your body will consume you. Your demonic side will take over, and once that happens, you will lose what little reasoning you still have left.” Clara’s tears began to lessen, as she wiped her eyes and nodded. “I’m sorry Vayne…” Leon watched as Vayne embraced the young girl in a hug, running a hand over her head. “I know… Just be glad I found you before Lanette did. You probably wouldn’t be alive right now, had she found you torturing our guest. Now, dress him as he was; and leave.”
She did as he asked, buttoning Leon’s clothes again as they were and turned to leave. She quietly walked out with her head hung as he heard the snick of the lock again. Leon sighed and kicked against the wall with the heel of his boot, hearing the echo throughout the room. Vayne turned towards him and crossed his arms. “I must apologize for her behavior. She’s recently turned and doesn’t know any better; the poor girl.”
“…Are you trying to make me feel sorry for her? You do realize I’m the one trapped here, right? ” Leon muttered, looking towards him. Vayne adjusted the cufflinks on his suit as he ran a hand through his short hair. “…. You’re here to fight Count Dracula, aren’t you?” he continued, ignoring his question.
“Ha… what difference does it make? In case you didn’t notice, I’m a bit tied up. I’m not in the position to fight anyone right now.” Leon barked, watching the vampire look towards him. “You say you aren’t in a position to fight, but still you struggle against the advances of the vampires here. Funny…” Vayne muttered, walking over and looking out of a nearby window.
“I’m sure you haven’t heard, but I thought you might be interested anyway… Three travelers arrived sometime ago. A young man and two women. Apparently, they were sent by the church to investigate the kidnappings; and to gather information on Dracula…” he turned his head towards Leon, watching his expression change. “Seems you were right when you told Lanette others would come; if only she had listened to you… she might not have had to fight three hunters.” he muttered, shaking his head.
“Why are you telling me this?” Leon asked. “What good will this information do me?” Vayne looked towards him and snapped his fingers; Leon heard the shackles binding his wrists and ankles open. He pulled his arms down and rubbed his wrists; eyeing the old vampire warily.
“You know… it would be a shame, were you to escape. It would be even more of a shame if you were to help those hunters oust Lanette.” Leon was extremely on edge now. “What are you up to Vayne? Aren’t you in with them in all this?” he spoke, giving the vampire a puzzled look. “My boy… relax. I may be a Vampire, but that doesn’t automatically mean I’m evil like the rest of them. Not all of us are together on the same team…. so to speak. I have my own reasons for letting you free.” he paused, raising his hand to his chin. “Think of me as… an indifferent soul. It matters not to me that you’ve escaped, nor, what you’ll do now.” he stopped, his expression becoming grim.
“Just remember; not every vampire is going to do to you what Lanette and Clara have done. You’d do well to remember that at their weakest point, they’ll go back to their original ways.” as he finished speaking, he snapped his fingers once again; and Leon heard the sound of the door unlocking. “You’ll find your friend in a room of the east wing on the first floor. He is unharmed for the time being, but I can’t guarantee he’ll stay that way for long.” he added, turning around and beginning to walk away. “You’ll find your weapons in the next room, the door has been unlocked there as well. Do try not to throw away your life too quickly, ‘eh Leon?” he chuckled, beginning to mist into nothing.
Leon watched as Vayne dissapated; leaving him alone once more. He thought about what the old man said as he made his way to the entrance. He silently opened the door and looked outside. Not a soul could be seen walking around; though he had a feeling someone would soon arrive. He shut the door and snuck into the next room, seeing his sword leaning against a nearby dresser. He also picked up the few wooden stakes he had brought, fitting them into the slots on his harness. He attached the harness to his jacket; taking a deep breath as he walked back over to the door. He felt safer with his sword and stakes… yet… “The first floor of the east wing, huh….? I believe I’m on the second floor, so I just have to make it over there without being spotted…”
“Easier said than done…” he muttered, and with that, he stepped out into the manor once more, making his way towards the eastern side.

Eventually, another servant came; escourting them to the foyer. As the girls walked through the manor, they couldn’t help but feel impressed by the tasteful layout of everything.
Though lavish, it wasn’t overbearing. The dark, wooden floors had a slight sheen to them as they walked past other servants. Some of them were cleaning while others were walking around, probably off to retrieve something or take care of a task. They could feel the eyes of a few of the servents gazing upon them. The two looked at each other and continued on, feeling a bit uneasy as they reached the foyer.
Upon entering, the young man who lead them there gave a bow and exited; leaving them alone. They walked around and noticed the large staircase leading up to the second and third floors. There were many paintings in the room, of various men and women; probably relatives of the family.
Above the staircase in the middle however…. was a rather large and ornate painting.
The painting was of an older man; garbed in a rather foreboding set of black and red armor. His long red hair hung wildy from his head; as his forward gaze seemed to pierce through Alexandria’s soul as she looked at it.
She turned to Carrie, noticing she too was gazing upon the portrait. She placed a hand on her shoulder as Carrie quickly gazed away; looking at her. All of a sudden, they could hear the clicking of high heels on the staircase above. They turned their attention upwards, as a woman stepped into view, proceeding down the staircase.
She had long, flowing black hair; dressed in a blood red dress, with a pair of strappy black heels. She gracefully came down the staircase and stopped in front of the ornate painting; taking a moment to gaze at it before turning towards the two. The woman was truly a sight to behold; her beauty radiated across the room. “Ah… You two must be the ones I was informed of….” she spoke, her voice sultry and confident. She flashed them a smile and began walking down the stairs to meet them.
“You have my apolgies for having to wait so long; I didn’t think my servents would leave you two in such a rude manner…” she continued.
“…My name is Lanette Bernhard; and allow me the first to welcome you both to my manor.” As she arrived at the bottom, she gracefully shook hands with Carrie and Alexandria. “We heard of your husband’s passing, Lanette. I wanted to offer you my condolences.” Carrie replied, giving her a somber look. “Please, your words are too kind; it was a sad time for us all here, but we’ve managed to get by.” Lanette replied, holding her hand to her chest. “There are times where I find myself missing Orion dearly; but there’s nothing I am able to do. He’s in a better place now, fortunately.” she added, smiling at the two.
“Please, follow me, this lofty foyer is no place to talk.” she spoke, beckoning for the two to follow her upstairs. As they followed Lanette, the two couldn’t help but look once more at the painting above the staircase. Something about it seemed so….
“… Evil?” Carrie thought, shuddering.
“Ah… I see you two noticed the portrait..” Lanette chuckled, continuing on.
“Yes… we did.” Alexandria replied, sounding embarassed.
“Yes… that was one of my late husband’s ancestors from a time long ago… Walter Bernhard…” her voice trailed off.
“…If I recall correctly, he used to rule over the old castle not too far from here. Of course, Orion’s great-grandfather built the manor on part of the land Walter used to rule over. Something about history and tradition or some such…” she waved her hand; not really seeming interested in going into any more detail. The three reached a smaller room, as one of the butler’s opened the door for them.
Another maid was inside, who warmly smiled at them; pouring them a cup of tea as they all sat down. The girl offered some to Lanette, who politely declined; “As luck would have it, I already had lunch not a half-hour ago. But you two, please, enjoy.” she spoke, giving them a warm smile. The young maid collected her things and left with the butler, leaving the three alone.
Carrie reached over and placed a lump of sugar into her tea, watching it dissolve. As she watched it, she looked towards Lanette, who was examining a ring upon her finger. Inlaid into the ring was a stone Carrie had never seen before; it was red, streaked with tinges of black. “So… I was informed that you two had some questions that needed answering; am I correct?” Lanette asked, looking up at the two. Carrie sipped her tea while Alexandria stirred hers, trying to think of what to say. “Well… yes, we did. We wanted to know if you knew anything of the strange happenings in the area.”
Lanette sighed, looking out towards the moon rising in the sky. “I take it that you mean the disappearances of those poor girls?” she asked, closing her eyes. “…. Yes, I’ve heard about them. Though, what happened to them, I cannot say. I don’t think anyone does, sadly.” “Carrie set her cup onto it’s plate, clearing her throat. “You mentioned something about the Castle Bernhard; has anything been ocurring there as of late?” Lanette looked at her, and begun to laugh slightly, as rain pattered against the window.
“Please, do not think I’m mocking you; but the castle has been inacessable for many years now. Surely you must have seen the forest past this manor, yes?” The girls looked at each other and then to Lanette, slowly shaking their heads. “I see…. well, many centuries ago, that forest was referred to as the “Forest of Eternal Night”—” she paused, standing up and walking over to the window. She opened it and pointed out towards the forest beyond; “— There it lies; straight ahead. The man you saw in the painting, Walter, was the first to seek refuge in the forest; claming the abandoned castle as his own. Some say he had a magical relic that created a perpetual darkness that still even manages to blanket it to this day….” Lanette couldn’t help but chuckle as the two came over and looked out upon the forest.
True to her word, the two couldn’t see anything but the treeline; even with the moon shining down right onto it, there was no light that permeated the trees.
“I know naught of the missing women, or if there are any going-ons at the castle, but I can tell you this; if Dracula has returned, that would be the place he would do so.” she spoke; as the two felt the light splash of rain on their arms.
Carrie slowly turned towards Lanette. “…. What do you mean?”
Lanette turned once more and walked away, a smile plastered upon her lips. “Carrie… surely you must know. The forces of evil intend to awaken Dracula soon. This is why you’re here, is it not? To stop the resurrection of the Count?” A streak of lightning broke out across the sky, illuminating the room.
“What the…? How did she—”
Lanette slowly turned and raised an arm towards the two. “Unfortunately, I cannot allow you two to continue.” her expression changing to one of anger. “You two must be stopped; here, and now. I would have figured that with Actrise’s magic, Reon would have been more than a match for the three of you; but maybe I had too much faith in her…”
Alexandria quickly withdrew her daggers as Carrie tried to make sense of her words.
“You mean… you… Actrise? She was the one who did… that to… to Reon?” Carrie asked, feeling as though someone was draining the life from her body.
Lanette slowly began laughing, wrapping her arms around herself as she looked on at the two. “Haha!! Yes! The fool! Surely he knew better than to try and help you both; but unfortunately, he did. So we had to do something about that…” her voice trailed off, as she waved both of her arms in an arch.
Suddenly, the room began to change; no longer was it pleasant and tidy; the walls began to fade and the bookcases were ruined. Papers were strewn across the cracked and faded floor. Even the cups they were using were cracked and broken. Carrie raised a hand towards Lanette, joining Alexandria as the two watched her transform. No longer was her skin bright and vibrant; it began turning into a grayish hue. Her eyes became red, and as she smiled, they could see her canine teeth pointing out.
Vampire.
Not wanting to wait any longer, Carrie fired off a magical shot, “Venificus Orbus!” and the orb flew towards Lanette. Lanette however, raised an arm towards the orb, causing it to freeze in mid air and dissapate. “Carrie… h-how did she…?!” Alexandria uttered, as Carrie fired another, and another. These two were caught again, and sent back at the girls; they barely managed to roll out of the way as the glowing balls slammed into the ground, eliciting sparks as they hit.
Alexandria quickly got up and rushed towards Lanette, slashing at her with her daggers. She wouldn’t be taken so easily though, as she waved her hand once more, creating a whirlwind of papers to obscure Allie’s vision. “Wha— Ah! What is this!?” she screamed, trying to get out of the whirlwind surrounding her. Lanette laughed once more and turned her attention to Carrie. Carrie raised her arms towards Lanette and utilized one of the spell’s Reon taught her, the spell of immobilization.
Lanette suddenly found herself unable to move, as the magic controlling the papers ceased. Carrie watched as Alexandria stumbled, trying to regain her composure. Something wasn’t right…. she could see two of Alexandria as she rushed Lanette. Carrie’s vision began to blur as the spell lost its potency. Lanette managed to dissapate, but not before being slashed on the arm by Alexandria.
“Carrie… what’s… wrong….?” Alexandria spoke, rushing over and holding onto Carrie, but her voice sounded distant; like she was several hundred yards away. “S…Something’s wrong…” Carrie uttered, feeling her legs beginning to shake. Her head was spinning, and she was getting tired… Lanette appeared once more and sent an orb crashing into Alexandria, knocking her into the wall.
She walked over to Carrie and held the girl up by the chin, watching her consciousness slip away. “Yes……. that’s it Car..rie…. sleep…. now….” Carrie couldn’t keep awake anymore, as she collapsed to the ground. Alexandria began to slowly rise from the ground, searching for her daggers, but Lanette quickly picked her up and held her against the wall. The woman’s grip was too strong, and Alexandria couldn’t even move. “What have you done to her!?!” she yelled, struggling against the woman.
She laughed, “I see the tea I served worked better than I thought. She’s merely unconscious; but you shouldn’t be worrying about her right now….” Lanette leaned in, looking the girl in the eyes; as she started using another one of her spells. “Listen to me, Alexandria….” her voice calm, and melodic.
“No!! I won’t!” she screamed, shutting her eyes. She tried kicking the woman off of her, but her legs connected with nothing but air; “What?! Where did she go?” Alexandria opened her eyes and saw she had vanished. She took a few steps before Lanette grabbed her from behind, pinning her on a nearby sofa. Alexandria struggled, but she couldn’t throw her off from her, her grip was too much. Lanette leaned down into her ear and began whispering, “Alexandria…. stop this struggling… I command you..”
The girl’s struggling started to slow. “No! I…. I have to… Have…. to..fight…” she thought, starting to feel lightheaded.
“Listen to me… I am not your enemy… do you understand? I am Lanette Bernhard… the mistress of this manor… and you are Alexandria Duraie… my most loyal slave.. Do you hear me?” she spoke again, this time with a seductive edge in her voice; smiling as she felt the girl’s struggling finally cease. “I…. I am…. your… your most loyal… slave…” Alexandria spoke, her voice distant and slow.
Lanette slowly released her and stood up, smiling wickedly at the girl, as Alexandria rose as well. She looked to her face, noticing that the color of her eyes had faded, and were empty and grey.
“Good…. everything’s falling into place…” Lanette thought, giggling slightly.
“The fools—” she spoke, beginning to pace back and forth in front of Alexandria. “—They say Actrise is the most powerful witch in the country? Ha! Her power pales to my own!” she barked, raising her hand and examining the ring on her finger. The ring shined in the cascading moonlight with an almost etheral sheen, as the patterns twisted and contorted inside the stone. She turned towards Alexandria, who perked up, waiting for her to speak. “Alexandria, do you see this stone?” She asked, turning her hand around towards the girl.
Alexandria looked at the ring and nodded, “Yes, Mistress; what of it?”
No hesistation or delay, precise and to the point.
“Oh yes… this is good..”
“Do you know what this ring does, child?” she smiled, watching as the girl slowly shook her head. “The stone inlaid into this ring is but a fragment of the Ebony Stone. A once legendary treasure held by my late-husband’s ancestor, Walter Bernhard. Though this is a mere fragment, the power he was able to harness; the power to create the darkness shrouding the Forest of Eternal Night; still remains. With it, I can tap into the evil aura lurking within this manor and control it to my whim.”
She laughed once more, moving to the open window, watching the rain come down harder. “Those fools think they can revive Dracula; ha! Don’t be absurd. Once I show them the true power of the Ebony Stone, they won’t be able to stand in my way anymore.” Lanette turned back to Alexandria, beckoning her to shut the window. She did so with a nod; turning and following after Lanette as they exited the room.
“Collect Carrie, would you?” she told one of the butlers standing by the door.
“Yes, Mistress. And what would you have me do with her?” he asked, fixing his towel.
Lanette paused, putting a hand to her chin. Suddenly, an idea came to her, and she flashed a devilish grin.
“Alexandria… I must ask you something; something very important..” The girl smiled and nodded happily, “Whatever you want to know, Mistress.”
“Carrie isn’t… ticklish… by chance… is she?” asked Lanette.
Alexandria giggled, “Oh Mistress, she is exceedingly ticklish. Especially when it comes to her feet.”
Lanette turned to the butler and gave him a seductive smile; “You know what to do then.” and she departed, with Alexandria in tow.
“Of course, Mistress.” came the reply, as he went inside to retrieve Carrie’s lifeless body….

- -
Eventually, another servant came; escourting them to the foyer.
