It's recently come to my attention that I'm one of maybe twenty people in the world who's actually played this game. It's a shame, too...the game is universally praised (well, as universal as twenty people can get).

Anyone else remember this title? It came out during the latter years of the NES, so that might be why it's a bit obscure...

Sorry dude, other then the most commercial NES titles, (Duck Hunt [stupid dog] and Super Mario Bros., SMB 2 and SMB 3) I played a great game known as Cobra Triangle... that's about as obscure I get with NES. Sounded like it was fun though. 🙂

It was. It was quite novel in that it combined two genres in one game: shooters (like Zanac or Xevious) and exploratories (like Legend of Zelda). It had a pretty cool storyline, too...a planet is hurtling towards earth and it's up to Miria, a female android who can transform into a star-fighter, to destroy the thing before there's a collision. Definitely one of the better titles on the system, and it's unfortunate that it never caught on...

there is something you can download where you can play all the nes games. its called console classix, you can also get other platforms but you have to pay for it, so the nes is free!

Hey Midnight Circus, I've played it as well. I first played it as a rental back in the day when NES was contemporary(wow, I'm getting old!). Also, I've played it recently on an emulation program. You can find these online for free if you weren't already aware of them. Besides combining gaming platforms, it had a little of everything. Personally, I always thought some of the music was really cool for an NES game.

I guess that makes twenty-one people who've played it all across the world! :super_hap

Yeah, I'm a big fan of emulation...even found a way to jerry-rig my PSX so I can play NES games without the use of an internal modchip. I know the ESA looks down on it, but my feeling is that if I own a game that was released over fifteen years ago, I should (and do) have a right to a back-up copy. But I digress.

The thing certainly did have something for everyone, didn't it? There wasn't a whole lot of text in the game, but there was enough to give the game a hint of darkness and the player a sense of impending doom (especially the first message from the final inhabitant of Naju). My only wish is that they would have made its connection to Guardic (it's psuedo-prequel from the MSX computer, just in case you weren't aware of it already) more clear. I also wish they would have given Miria a bit more of a backstory. Those are small gripes, however.

The music is certainly ahead of its time. I'd almost argue that it's right up there with the likes of Mega Man and Castlevania in terms of quality...has a way of burrowing into your head and staying there for a few days.

is there a free program where you can get snes games?

Yes. It's legality is wholly dependent upon the laws in your region, though. In the US, it's legal to own copies of games you already own under certain software laws. I'm not so sure about the UK, though, so I don't know how the mods would feel about me giving out such information...

Since that's the case, I'll only tell you that if you want to learn more about such things as your own country's software laws, you might want to type into google the terms "roms" and "emulators."

lol No problem, my friend. Glad to help.

I think the US law for it is 24 hours on your system and then it's fair game for the FBI party-van.
