With all of the hostility being thrown around the forum lately, I think it's time we all take a step back, look in the mirror, concentrate on what we see, and come to the realization that Mega Man 9 is really all that's needed for world peace.
I know retro gamers will know what I'm talking about...but, for the uninitiated, Mega Man is a series of platformer video games, the first of which was published by Capcom in 1987. Through the years, the series has seen many spin-offs, a ton of sequels, and several (arguably unsuccessful) attempts to make the series "next gen," meaning better graphics, more complex music, and deeper gameplay. Recently, the ninth installment in the classic franchise was released as downloadable content for the Wii, PS3, and XBox 360, but with a twist: everything is retro. The graphics are comprised of 8-bit sprites, the music sounds like it was composed for the original Nintendo (because it was), and the gameplay has gone back to the basics of run, jump, and shoot. The result?
THIS GAME IS PHENOMENAL. In my opinion, of course.
So, without pushing my audience into tl;dr status, the point of this thread is to see how many other retro gamers out there are enjoying this incredible title, where they think it fits in terms of quality in the series, what they think of the various modes and add-ons for the game, etc. So, please, have at it.
