The threads about the logo pic and psycho's message on the old forum have gotten me to thinking about the intolerance of tolerance. What I mean by that is that I have noticed the number of people crying for tolerance. "Everyone should be tolerant of everyone else." But then as soon as Christians begin to preach their religious beliefs the tolerance crowd suddenly gets very intolerant. I just wish that if people were going to push for tolerance they would actually be tolerant themselves. Otherwise it is just a lie to claim that oneself is a tolerant person. Just for the record, I am willing to admit that I am not a tolerant person. I try to be, I try to respect all people, but I am not perfect. There are some people and some ideas that I have trouble tolerating. I will also admit to being a lazy person and don't spend much energy on pushing my intolerance.

Tolerance?
This question of tolerance is an old philosophical issue. Should a really tolerant person tolerate even intolerance? Or is this consequent kind of tolerance simply a special kind of indifference? You sidestepped this elegantly, omega, by confessing your own measure of intolerance.
Kujman is right, this topic touches our favor for tickling only marginally. But it touches the very core of this forum, as we have to find the right balance between tolerance and intolerance here. We can’t tolerate anything unlawful, for example. We won’t tolerate flame postings. But we have to endure society’s intolerance against us ticklers/-lees. We have to tolerate general censorship in mainstream movies when it comes to tickling. We have to tolerate fanatic actions like Psycho deleting the old forum with all its contents, although fanatism belongs to the worst kinds of intolerance. But at the same time, we must thank Psycho from our very heart and soul for creating it. And: we can’t do a thing about intolerance towards tickling. Confusing, isn’t it?
