The Love-Me-Nots

(these pieces were written some time ago...typically I write of love, but to appreciate love, sometimes you have to endure the other side...)

undeserving

interrupted constantly
I can't make you think to kiss me
can't permeate your clouded thoughts
don't dare to ask
like your kiss is so ethereal
that you cannot descend and open your mouth
to taste me

decline

all tall things must fall
all hard things must soften
stone must crumble
and you and I must rumble
unfair like life is
I question how fixed
this fight is
like the stars fixed to the sky
at night is
I seem to feed your true disgust
then instantly I fuel your lust
I cannot tell which I should trust
and in this realm I am confined
amidst the changing tides inside your mind
and though you love me
you don't mind
tracking down my fault lines
not your fault
I guess it's mine
I did incite love some of the time
and all things fall apart
sometimes
buildings steady rise and crumble
civilizations do go under
and now my love
we shouldn't wonder
why we also fell apart

that last fight we had
I'm wishing I could take it back
when I let cruelties crusade
from my two lips
I want to take it back
when we woke up that morning
when Hell's fury fed
my scorn
when the night before
contempt was born
when love forgot to bring you home
back to all the times before then
I was alone
to when you said the first lie
back to before the first tears welled up
to before that time
back before you said you
were mine
back to 'Be My Valentine'
back to before the first blush and
the best kiss
to when I first said 'Hello my
name is'
I wish I could take that back

Dang it. How did I forget to post on these. Sometimes I really think my brain is ahead of my body.

Ok so, first of all...THANK YOU hun for posting these. Great grouping and really packed a punch. I re-read take backs about ten times. I love love love that poem so much. I'm such a fan of rhythm in poetry and this flows so well that it's like a perfectly choreographed dance piece. I had the chills the first time I read it.

Decline made me want to cry babe. Seriously, can't even read that one again cause it cuts so deep. I know you are done and over with where these came from but I want to give you a hug for all you went through. Props to you for getting all this out and for sharing it here. 😉 You astound me continually.
