Some might place this under the tickling discussion. I've not said much about the topic of tickling lately, so this seemed the best location.

I've never really thought of tickling as odd, but the concept of why myself and others like me like it... or rather like to be the recipient of it (at least in theory)... has sometimes occupied my mind.

Here I am going to be blunt!!!!

I'm miserable, lifeless, without soul. DEPRESSED!! and taking pills for it.

Tickling evokes laughter (usually)

Is my desire to be tickled motivated by depression and a deep desire to laugh by any means? Maybe I am trying to rationalise my tickling desires. I don't really know.

Or maybe I am asking the question of how many of us are suffering from depression.

XaviarRkR, I don't understand much about clinical depression, but I suspect that the two concepts (that and tickling) are separate. Concentual tickling is a healthy, vigorous way of interacting with fellow humans... if you find it theraputic, I see that as very positive. I don't feel that it's desperate or reaching in the least. Not to be flip, but laughter is very good medicine: use it along with standard treatment to fight your demons.
