I've just read an article about that whole Miss North Carolina fiasco that's been going on. What's everyone's thoughts on that? It's kind of an example of horrible and unfair "justice" here. You have the first lady, Ms. Revels, who wins the title in June. Then her ex-boyfriend, who took topless photos of her without her knowing it (she claims) e-mails her and threatens to publish them.
Pageant officials pressure her to quit and a new Miss North Carolina is chosen, because a clause in their contract prohibits "dishonest, immoral and indecent" behavior. Ms. Revels tried to get her crown back, but the courts ruled against her.
I mean, how many of these Miss America contestants have had sex? Hmmmm, most of them I'm sure. There's so much hypocricy, you could spread it with a shovel. The entire Miss America pageant is about guys watching attractive women on television, I mean, come on! (Not that I'm protesting THAT, being a guy and all, but I think they need to get off their perceived lofty moral high horse, or whatever they are on.)
But even worse, why isn't the press going after this guy? He took topless photos of her, she dumps him for that reason or something else (but if he did that, he's not Prince Charming.) But even further, he uses them to come back later and hurt her, or blackmail her. Either he's a blackmailer, or he's just pure evil and wanted to watch her humiliated and suffering. What a great guy!
Why isn't HE the one suffering!? Why isn't his ass on the hot plate? Why does she have to grovel before the committee for something some evil bastard did to her? This is such glaring unfairness, I am incapable of seeing how all this is happening. When I see things like this, I'm amazed that everyone isn't in agreement on the facts of the matter.
Obviously the guy isn't in any kind of trouble, though I can't see why not. But if there are no legal reprecussions, there should be societal. (Tax payers would have to support him in jail, anyway, and that's absurd. Why should they have to pay to house him and feed him for even one day?) I think this is how we should deal like people like that - The O'Reilly Factor! Basically, since this is a big media event, the whole pageant and this court case and all, let Bill O'Reilly, and Sean Hannity, and Larry King, and any Conservative media guy, and any Liberal Feminist media gal get this guy on television, and have to face a grilling. (O'Reilly is mentioned first, because he'd tear the guy a new asshole.) Both Hannity, and Colmes would also, as would most every other conservative, AND, a would every feminist out there. Larry King would kind of go soft, but he lets callers on his show, and THEY would eat him up. Basically, give the guy the same humiliation that Ms. Revels got. He's scum, and he need to be humiliated, so the next time he tries to ask a girl out, they'll be like "Yeah, right..." I mean, Gary Condit got pummelled for months, 24 hours a day on Fox News, for having a concensual affair with an intern. But he's a saint compared to this punk.
