So, anybody else follow the Association? Thoughts thus far on the 2014/2015 Season?

Orlando fan, here (Yeah-yeah, you don't have to tell me). We're...improving over the past two rebuild seasons, but I did have genuine hopes for a better run than I've seen 40+ games in. I genuinely think we can beat anybody on any given night. Unfortunately, we've shown that we can BE beaten by anybody in the League on any given night. But that's just my team, love `em or hate `em.

It's been an interesting season thus far, with former powerhouses struggling mightily. Many major players hurt or just coming back from injuries. The West is stacked with talent, while teams nobody really expected (think Hawks and Wizards) are exploding out of the East. I really have no idea whatsoever how the rest of the season is going to play out. There are so many teams who could make a serious run for a ring this year. Best guess? Maybe a Texas vs. California Conference Finals Matchup in the West? There's several great teams in each state! The East is looking a lot more specifically like Hawks, or Wizards, or Raptor, or Bulls.

By California vs. Texas, who are you predicting from each state? Rockets/Mavs or Warriors/Clippers?

I'm not ready to give up on the Cavs just yet. I think they'll make a playoff run and maybe go to the conference finals...I wouldn't bet against LeBron.

Yeah, I could see the Rockets, Mavericks, or of course the Spurs out of Texas, and the two you mentioned out of Cali. And you're right about King James. Any team he's on has a shot. The Cavs just need to build some chemistry and trust. They've had people out on and off since the season began, and trades, so they're still learning to play together...even though we're already at the halfway mark in the season. By next season? With all their talent? Look out!

I feel bad for organizations like the Pelicans, who are a 500 team (at least they were a couple of days ago when I checked), yet can barely make a playoff spot in the super-strong West.

How did I forget the spurs? Silly me

To your last point, I'm a Hornets fan and don't know whether to be relieved or embarrassed that they are 10 games under 500 and only two spots out of a playoff spot. Definitely feel bad for the teams in the West

Yeah, the Pels would probably be 4th or 5th ranked in the East...yet might not even be in the playoffs at all in the West. It's crazy. I like your Hornets. They made a decent run last year. I don't think they should have gotten rid of Josh McRoberts, but then again, we traded him the year previously. He seemed determined to take it to the Heat in last year's playoffs. Of course, now he's with them! Funny how things work out in the pro game.
