Sometimes, art is the only expression available.

I've never been the type to be one of those pretentious artsy types. You know, the ones who like to use the word "juxtapose" to help describe a painting. But honestly, when I look at that pic, I see a wave of many emotions and possibilities ranging from the comedic ("Oops...I broke her") to the tragic ("Why did it have to be this way??").

Hope you don't mind, but this pic just became my new desktop wallpaper, replacing the long-standing "Death of Captain America". Awesomely done, THE Dave. It's not often a piece of artwork can actually make me stop and ponder and you just did it.

All I can say is thank you. That's about the highest compliment an artist can receive, to have one's powerful emotion set transfer to another.

I don't often reply...

But I couldn't help but speak on this one... I can certainly feel the tragedy hanging on this one. It's heavy with grief over things lost. I relate to this picture so well... I've had many partings, and the beginning is always the hardest.

Well done, Dave. I've seen many great works on this forum, but few which evoke emotion within me. Thank you for the contribution..

Oh, wow. That's some powerful imagery. Great work, Dave.

Inspiration is a strange thing, no? Sometimes we have to undergo something exquisitely painful in order to create something wondrous.

Whatever the inspiration, the result is fantastic. Simple, haunting, effective. Love the lack of color and the false comfort his companion provides behind him (that may not have been your intent; it's my initial perception).

It's just transcendent.

>< ERK!

I have to agree whole-heartedly with Obs... hauntingly beautiful.

This piece is gonna take a while for me to absorb (or to get over) depending on how you look at it. I feel affected. I feel enraptured by the sadness. I feel pity. I feel betrayed, I feel uplifted, I feel smacked, and I feel somehow lightly kissed.

Just like so many moments in life, eh?

Kudos to you, my friend.

This is a staggering piece.

It's given me a lot to think about. A lot of emotions to get through. (As Calvin would say...) It's complicating my life. Please don't make anymore.

LMAO.

Nice work Dave.

I love it.

that brings out so many emotions in me...wow, beautiful, a millions words spoken through a picture

Absolute masterpiece. Dave, you have a true gift my friend. From one Star Wars fanatic to another, may the force be with you.
