The Safety Dance

So, while listening to my collection of 80's hits, a question that's been weighing on my soul for some time needs answering. Does The Safety Dance actually entail a choreographed dance like the Macarena (which I did, at one point in time, know how to do)? Because the music video doesn't involve a lot of dancing so much as prancing and capering. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I have seen this video many times over my life span. There is a lot of jumping and stuff. Not any Macarena type dancing!

lol! I did a horrible rendition of this on myspace karaoke. Sounded like a chimpanzee with a sore throat dry humping a goat while on top of a unbalanced washing machine in the spin cycle.
Consequently however I do know a relative of one of the band members. Strangely enough I have never given him my addy for myspace 😀
