So today in 1963, JFK was assassinated..was it a conspiracy? i think so..twas the shot that reverberated around the world..a mystery still surrounds his death..ah when i see clips of him clutching his throat, and turning to Jackie, i still get tears..he knew..I believe if he had lived, he would have gone down as one of our best Presidents..forty six years ago..wow..i have the books my mother purchased after his death..one titled, Four Days in November..

I've never heard "the shot heard around the world" used for the JFK assassination. I thought it was the first shot at Lexington and Concord and also refers to the shot that killed Franz Ferdinand. Anyways, conspiracy? Maybe. Something to help propel us into vietnam? Probably not. As for multiple shooters, modern forensics proves that it could have been easily been one shooter. Best president we've ever had? Not likely. The earliler presidents really take the cake on this. Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln, and later Roosevelt... both actually.

But Kennedy, He may have been great, maybe. Unfortunately, he never was given the chance. Regardless of political view, the untimely death of a human is a sad thing.

actually i made it up...the shot heard round the world i think is in regards to what happened at Fort Sumter..but thanks for your opinion

i used the expression for the title of my thread..i didn't borrow it from anyone..

I believe it was a conspiracy. Why on Earth was Kennedy in an open roof car? That sort of thing should NEVER HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO HAPPEN by the president's security yet it was.

Izzy, you know quite well that the "shot heard 'round the world" was the beginning of the American Revolution. C'mon, you were there! 😉

ooo Bella...tsk tsk...you know i wasn't around til Lincoln was shot...in fact i was sitting in the next box..and saw him stand up and say..."You come up here and say that" :stickout

Open cars processions were not all that uncommon back then, Rox. In fact, after the JFK assassination, the practice stopped. I tend not to believe in any of the conspiracies. Too many rabbit trails and every time you turn around, they find more people to link in. Would have been pretty hard to cover-up such a thing if as many people that are claimed to have been involved.

In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter at this point?

the hollywood brother thought that the shot heard round the world was referring to babe ruth calling his home run many years ago in a yankees game
