the slug and the hottub

ok the slug was not in the hottub, but beside it.and i didn't see it until after i had taken off the cover..and was putting some more water in the tub..it had rained earlier today..i just wonder how in the hell did that giant slug get on my deck??? grr ok here it is..


there was a slug near the hottub
and i nearly had a fit..

not a bug, but a slug,
and i went into a snit

"david david" did i scream
"help me help it's not a dream

this slug is ten inches that i swear
get your big old ass out here"


he got a broom and swept the slug
he swept and swept it from the tub
the slug did curl the slug did squirm
that giant slug was no damn worm

the hottub now is free of slugs
it's free of slugs, and big old bugs
izzy is free to do her thing
in the hottub she sings and sings..

"take that you slug, don't even think
to mess around with brooms and ink.
go spread that icky goo elsewhere,
you are not wanted here or there"

Cute poem, Izzy! A delightfully jaunty, singable quality! Sounds like a banana slug, if you get 'em on your coast. Those are the big ones out here.

Poor ol' slugs. They sure do get a bad rap, for such inoffensive creatures. Next time, just pick him up gently and move him to a leaf, where he'd really prefer to be anyway. He'll only be sticky for a second!

yikesssssssssss pick him up???? are you kidding??? he was as big as a small snake..and all gray and had these uh...feeler like thingies..and he was headed right for my feet....i must have danced all over that porch yelling for david..hehe..

hey i'm glad you liked the poem..i made it up while lying in the hottub working on my tan...and being entertained by swooping hummingbirds..did you know that male hummingbirds are very territorial...and defend the feeder from any and all other hummers...they dive bomb down, makes for a very fun watch

i know you i think....and this was no ordinary slug...and i wasn't in the hottub yet..this was the mother of all slugs..and it was headed for my feet..and i was in socks only...i had pulled the top from the hottub..o wait i was in flip flops..i remember since i was adding some water to the tub..jacuzzi, whatever you wish to call it..and anyway that's not the point...this fantastic poem i made up is what you should have focused on...:bouncy:
