I don't why this just popped into my head but...what happened to them? Are there any UK SG fans here that know?

Geri (a.k.a. Ginger Spice) left the band years ago, then the other 4 gave up the ghost 6 months to a year ago. There's always talk of a re-union, but for the sake of having to put a bullet through my TV screen, I hope there isn't.

Jimbo doesn't want to have to "nobble" his tv on account of some washed up trollops

Ginger is a judge on that t.v show "All American Girl". She's also a UN Ambassidor but I'm not sure for what - pediatric AIDS? Something like that.

I just saw a one page interview with Mel C - she's really distancing herself from the Sporty Spice image.

Don't know about the others.

i, and my kids liked them

ok go ahead and ridicule, i really don't care.
we have their movie, all their music, and a few posters.
the kids lied them for their message, their misic, and they seemed like a fun group.
i liked them for 3 reasons ,i could understand what they were saying, i too enjoyed the music, it was catchy, and i had a few great fantisies about tickling 3 of them, lol.

They've gone the way of the dodo, like so many other flavor-of-the-second teeny bopper bands.

Funny how we can understand them, but can't understand Ozzy Osbourne. After all they are from the same country

The only word I can understand from Ozzy is SHAAAAAAAAAAAAARON

The spice girls..........

.....the U.K.s answer to germ warfare, we should be playing their albums at the republican guard, they will run screaming from their bunkers. Unfortunately the UK is up to its neck in this kind of talentless manufactured shit.I look forward to the end of this famine, and the time when being able to play an instrument well and having paid some dues is back in fashion.

Generally, the whole music biz is full of manufactured Mickey Mouse bullshit (but that, I mean the Britney/Christina/Justin branch). Here, we have weak-vocalled wimps like Gareth Gates. Ah well, best go to alternative radio stations for quality stuff...

It ain't just the UK. We have our share of talentless hacks here in the US as well, and the media calls them "superstars". I cannot stand this "manufactured music" crap they are shelling out left and right.

I still cannot tell the different between Backstreet Boys, N*Sync, 98 Degrees, ect. They all sound the same to me.

But music fans are very fickle and the groups I mentioned will not last long and will be replaced with an equally talentless "flavor of the hour" pop fad.

Give me John Lennon and The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, and The Who any day of the week.

It's funny (but not at all surprising) how many, if not most, pop music acts like the Spice Girls don't last all that long. I remember when they were one of the hottest groups around. How time flies when you finally wonder where they are now! 😛

Isnt it true that watching old Spice Girls videos can cause seizures?

I heard that! Those fantasies I too shared. "Tell me what you want, what you really really want..."

I don't think you'd like it, Baby Spice........

Have you seen the new, regrouped Doors? Their music is fine, in a technical aspect, but it just isn't the same now, is it.

Hear hear! The Spice Girls weren't as manufactured as Hear'Say, Girls Aloud and One True Voice though. At least the girls formed themslves. When will these "reality TV" twats wake up and realise that we're sick of this shit?

Things is Jim, the UK are sick of it, but when a new show comes up, everyone still watches it and buys the records. It's a visicous circle...

Quite recently I read in the paper that the spice girls were actually discussing getting back together again to make a greatest hits album. It was decided while the girls were staying at Vicoria's (Posh spice)house. However Mel C refused to get back together because she wants to continue her solo career, the other four are still going ahead with it because they dont really have anything to lose.

Point well made! I'm sure a little convincing would be all it would take......

Now I'm really really hoping for a reunion!

Good point, but it's beginning top break down now. That's why they've had to shelve plans for Pop Idol 2 and Postars 3. Good f***ing riddance! :sowrong:

Too bad the same could not be said for the States. We have the "flavor-of-the-minute" pop "stars" being rammed down our throats 24/7. And they can not even perform. I have heard people refer to Justin Timberlake as "The Next John Lennon" and when I heard that I just about lost my lunch.

To compare a talentless hack like Timberlake to a genius like John Lennon is an un-forgivable insult.

That would be like comparing some no talent football-wannabe punk to Joe Nameth. It just isn't done.

Justin Timberlake has an ego bigger than his "talent", just like most "artists" today. Mind you, there's no accounting for tastes! 🙂
