I'm pulling for Oakland...
..'cause the Bucs killed my Philly Eagles!! and ruined my weekend! and totally ruined my Super Bowl party...in advance! plus, if Philly won, i would have won a bet that would have had this girl (a friend) tied to my futon and tickled for 10 mins! but nooooo, Tampa won and i had to run through my apt. parking lot with just a Tampa Bay jersey and my underwear on, yelling "I love the Bucs!". how humiliating! 😱 where's the justice?!

go Tampa Bay!!!!! even though they have Keyshawn Johnson who i cant stand at all. i USED to be a Raider fan. i remember watching Marcus Allen running that one play against the Redskins. i remember Jim Plunkett, Howie Long, Tom Flores (i even know his daughter!!) and crew. but when they decided to leave Los Angeles in the dark of the night AND ridiculing Los Angeles on their way out, AND having Al "just win baby" Davis claim he still owns the LA market and if the NFL wants a team in LA, HE must approve it, i detested the Raiders. i dont like the Rams as well. i hope the Raiders do what they did best in the last years in LA. CHOKE. yes, i'm still bitter.....

Yep folks, the Jedi Master is in the "Q-Club" now! Actually, I was thinking about doing it anyway, and I'm not all that unpleased with it. Change is good.
Speaking of change: I can't say "The Bucs are going to the Super Bowl" and believe it. The Bucs, who used to wear Creamsicle colors? The Bucs, who only 5 years ago had a twenty-minute segement devoted to them in pre-game because they won two in a row? The Bucs, who have Chucky for a coach, Mini-Me Valdez for a kicker and Frankenstien for a safety? Ah well, that's parity I guess.
Perhaps Philly is destined to be one of those teams that always "almost made it." Like Minnesota of late, or Cleveland. Or maybe these three or four teams will kick around a few Conference Championships around for the next decade. Remember, these things happen in streaks. From 1969 to 1979, it was basically the Cowboys, Vikings and Rams who represented the NFC in the Super Bowl. In fact, with the exception of one appearance by the Redskins ('72), it was all Dallas, Minnesota and L.A. Hell, take out the two appearances by San Fran in '70 and '71, these teams were the only ones in the conference games for the entire decade. So maybe Philly will take four or five tries to actually get there. If nothing else, there's a good cross-divisional rivalry going here...
Ok, who do I pick? With none of my favorite teams left, I can at least watch this game and just freakin' enjoy it. If forced to pick one to root for, I'd have to go with Oakland. Not because of the team, but for a few of the guys. I've liked Rich Gannon since he played for my Vikings (hard to believe this guy once fought for his job against Sean Salsbury, huh?) Rice, you gotta like. My grandmother, when she was alive, watched the Niners games because she liked Jerry, not the team. I guess it stuck. It's probably the fact that it's good to see the old guys excel for once. Except for Romanowski...he's still an asshole, just an aged one.
(Mental note...remove imagery of aged asshole...)
Seriously, I'm going with the Raiders. Tampa's defense is going to give the Raiders trouble, no doubt. But it's the offense that will decide this one. Keeping Oakland to a low-scoring game means that they score 28 instead of thier usual 40 or so. I just don't think Tampa's offense can score the 30 points they'll need to win this one.
Raiders over Buccaneers: 28-17

Well, I hate both teams. The Oakland thing comes from being a diehard Steelers fan. And I just despise the Bucs. Hmmmmm....
Well, I have a lot of friends who are Raiders fans, and I do like Romanowski, so I'll have to go with the Raiders. I refuse to root for the Bucs, one of the main reasons being Keyshawn. Personally, he doesn't impress me, plus he runs his mouth way to much for his own good. I still vividly remember him running his mouth about Wayne Chrebet when the Bucs had to play the Jets, and Chrebet shut his fat mouth by catching the game winning TD. On top of that, that son-of-a-bitch actually said on Saturday that he was such a good player, he could make Terry Bradshaw look good!!!!
S'okay, 'cause Howie put it all in perspective, saying that his boy (Bradshaw) won 4 Super Bowls and got 4 MVP's and Terry's receivers were in the Hall of Fame. He went on to say that if Keyshawn wants to be able to say things like that, then he needs to win the big game first. Go Howie!
Anyway, I guess I'll be going for the Raiders.

For those who don't know, and actually may care, it's been confirmed one of the big movie promos for the SB is a 30-second spot for 'HULK'. Probably be the most exciting thing about the SB. I know it's about the only thing I want to see.

By rule, my own, I always route for the NFC in the Super Bowl.
I think the Tampa Defense will overtake the high scoring Raiders.

Dave, you HAVE to show a picture of you with no hair. see, that's why i dont gamble. i hate losing, and i lose and then have to live up to a bet, i would be pissed for a LONG LONG time. i remember a friend of mine bet his job on a game. he lost. that's why i dont gamble.
