This was an idea that MasterRP2 and I were mulling over not long ago in wake of some things that were going on in our personal lives. I think it's an ideal way to bring us even closer together as a community. Now, I'm not going to attempt to cram religion down anyone's throat, nor is it my intent to offend anyone whose beliefs aren't the same as mine, so I won't mention any specific "religious things" here. Chris and I just felt that this would be a great way for us as a family, if you will, to extend prayers to anyone that we personally know is going through hard times. It doesn't even have to be a forum member that you pray for.

I'll start: I pray that Chris continues to recover from his recent leg surgery...I can't have a tickling partner in crime hobblin' around, man, and I REALLY need ya if we go up against the TMF in tackle football 😉 . In all seriouness, though, man, recover soon and well.

My grandmother's been acting strange lately--she's having serious rage issues, to the point where she bangs on doors if I stay on "too long" with Senshi. She admits that she's bee feeling extremely out of control emotionally lately, and is worried. We're BOTH worried, actually, about alzheimers or dementia.

...and she'll be in my prayers, as well as those of many I'm sure.

I think it might also help to further indicate that "prayer" doesn't necessarily, for those of you with varied beliefs and feelings on the matter, have to be made to a specific person/place/thing/entity in general, if that's not what you would choose to do. "Prayer," I feel, in those cases, can take the form of just general well-wishing and thoughtfulness directed toward a person...to be a bit more melodramatic, "good vibes" sent out from that person to the one in need of the prayer. Again, I'm not gonna thump people over the head with religion while standing on a soapbox. I just want us to be able to feel that we can openly share our concerns and, through that, draw together even closer as a community. :super_hap

And, on that note, I have another, this one being about good tidings. I have a close friend from "that other forum" who will be fortunate enough to vacation in Cancun with her relatives this coming spring. For her and her family, I pray for a safe flight, a wonderful, relaxing vacation, and a safe return home. And it wouldn't hurt if she provided me some details of her stay, either, jealous as I'd be because of all the #($@ing snow all over the place up near where I am right now... 😉

has another prayer in mind...

...this one being for a dear, sweet friend, one who can often seem a bit casually detached and unattainable, yet has a very obviously strong-beating, pure heart that retains a notable depth of vulnerability beneath the seemingly detached exterior. She deserves nothing but happiness, this one, and in fact once said that she is embarking on a "search to find someone to love her for her."

Well, while I KNOW which love she was referring to, love takes on many forms, and all of them, when real and reciprocated, are truly precious things. On that note, I might add that, sometimes, the "someone" in that quote above can be directly under the person's nose... 😉

...I pray she finds happiness in any and all ways she desires. She's often made me quite happy. :happy:

I certainly hope that we can continue to bond together strongly as a community through well-wishes and good vibes and prayer for one another and, as you said, meteor, for really most of the world at large. Very excellent point. :super_hap And, on a slightly lighter note, I pray for the upstart Super Bowl entry from the National Conference this season, the Arizona Cardinals (that STILL sounds weird when I say it!), to emerge victorious on the Biggest Goldarned Pro Sports Party in the Universe...mostly because I have twenty bucks riding on it! 😉
