The TMF/AMT connection.........

I used to lurk on AMT, but not so much any more, because of the petty name calling and flame wars that it has been reduced to.

Those in AMT often down the TMF moderators as being little more than "egotistical", and "self-righteous" and thrive on "ego trips" and "power trips"

But the experiences I have had on TMF has been just the opposite.

Does anybody else find any problems on TMF, because I am curious as to where all of these allegations stem from.

This is by far the more productive and definately the more civil of the 2 groups.

I haven't looked at the AMT since joining the TMF. This forum is WAY better than any newsgroup! No problems here. 😀

I agree. I have found no problems here at all, and the moderators here have been nothing but helpful.

The last time I was on AMT was a few weeks back, and all I heard was Jeremy ranting and raving about Foot Paradise and TC and how they were "one in the same".

I just got sick of all the petty bitching and those who usually bitched the most, contrubited the least.

But that's usually the way it goes.

I think on this everyone can agree, this forum rules. I never go visit the AMT unless I want to pick up some new swear words. Finally does the AMT have its own sentient thread? No way. This place rocks.

Certain people just don't like the fact that they can't go explode and insult everyone on the TMF. These same people who made the comments your reffering to most likley were cut by the mods when they attempted to act out there usual behavior. Although I have heard some intelligent arguments regarding why some people prefer AMT. The reason you don't find as much of the aformentioned behavior here is because it is simply not allowed.

There are a few here who don't always like the way things are done. Let's face it. No matter how good something is, not everyone will think so all of the time. One of the biggest problems folks over at AMT have with us is that they can't just show up and jump into flame wars like they do there. For those who like to do nothing but bitch and moan, this place probably sucks. I'll take it over AMT any day of the week!

Point to be made...AMT has many regular members who go to share tickling media..and do not go to join in flame wars...at this moment there are tons of great Emit pics and Steve & Beth collage pics posted that I havent seen in quite a while...AMT like here has it share of spoil sports and whiners..the difference being that our moderators take care of the cranks here and the AMT is not moderated at all..Still plenty of reason to visit there..just ignore the flames and download some really great stuff....and thank those that put it up...

It's sad to see how a few folks have basically ruined the fun we used to have in AMT. Bob Hare, who created AMT, works very hard keeping it up and running. I can only imagine that he must get frustrated with the flaming that goes on day after day.

I frequent TMF, as you know. Yet about once a month I go on AMT to see what's happening. Same baloney, same flaming.

It is still a great resource for great stories, pics and history of our community. You'll see it all. There are some Steve & Beth stuff in there now that I haven't seen in literally years.

So.. AMT and/or TMF. They both have alot to offer. I personally perfer TMF to avoid the nastiness that seems to run rampant in AMT.

AMT or Alt.Multimedia.tk was named that way specifically to help avoid spammers. Bob didn't use "THAT" word or any word that goes along with it. It's helped tremendously. And Bob is always on the prowl for anyone who comes in randomly spamming the group. I've seen him in action several times over the last several years agressively go after spammers with their carriers and he's able to get them stopped.
