The world we live in today

Police say not one person made an effort to help the woman, but many had enough sense to pull out their cell phones!!

Granted they caught the guy on camera and he was arrested, but no one made an effort to stop the violence?

What does that say about the state of our world today, get passively involved?

I would guess that it means that most people here in NYC are unwilling to get involved in a violent crime in the subway, likely out of fear that the perpetrator might be armed. I agree that it is a rotten state of affairs.

You're right Milagros, in today's world, many people are reluctant to get involved for a variety of reasons: legal repercussions, is the person is armed, or worse psychotic?

It's a much different world we live in than when we were kids.
