There might be a new virus out there....

I think my pc is under attack....For some reason I can't open any .exe programs......and all my cookies are gone....from every forum I visit....and I can't seem to restore them....anyone else having these types of problems?

Yep.

Mine froze twice yesterday, and a short while ago, my cookies had a problem, too. I didn't automatically log into Yahoo!Groups or Deviantart.com. I ran a Norton Antivirus Update and scanned my entire system. It came up empty. Of course, I know just how accurate that scan might be...so if anyone can offer any help, it would be greatly appreciated.

We had a similar experience when we got hacked last year. THe virus was planted in DOS, which is not scanned (or not thoroughly scanned) by anti-virus programs. We ended up having to nuke our system and start from scratch. It was a real PITA that took forever. But, it did get rid of the virus.

I suggest to everyone to not download anything that has a .exefile too. And of course from anyone that you do not know.

You might also try to scan for the potential virus in DOS mode.
