They are in talks on a Dragonball Movie. Do you think this guy is the perfect Vegeta

I read where 20th Century Fox and the guys who own the rights of the DRAGONBALL series are either in talks or already got the rights to make a movie series out of the cartoon series we all love. Well I thought who would make good actors to play the characters and this guy has to be Vegeta. Tell me what you think. His name is Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa. He was also in the Mortal Combat Movie. He has the right body type and he knows martial arts. You guys tell me what you think from this quick mock up I made next to an actual screen grab from the series. Boy, I hope they don’t screw up the movies.

And also Mako (The old fart they found in the desert in the first Conan movie) as Roshi. He played a Japanese General in Pearl Harbor, and he is the voice of Aku on Samurai Jack.

Well, if he can get Vegeta's attitude down, yeah, he might make a good Vegeta. Too bad they aren't gonna use American actors..only cause then I'd gladly accept to play that jerk we all love to hate. lol 😀 ....plus I'm short enough too. lol

Oh and by the way, buggs, don't you mean it's gonna be a Dragon Ball Z movie😕 After all, that was the series Vegeta first showed up in...not Dragon Ball.


I just hope they don't do the ''staring at each other for nearly five minutes before attacking'' thing they do in the series. That'd ruin it for me right there.

I believe since the general public wont know the difference between OG, Z, and CT, they will just call it Dragonball. And knowing the trend in Hollywood now, they will try to get a 3-picture deal and shoot them back-to-back. Superman the movie started it, back to the future 2 and 3 continued it, and Lord of the Rings continued it. Now they are planning the new Superman that way, shooting all 3 movies at one time, and others. So I believe FOX would be looking at it as a 3 or 4 picture shoot them all together deal. Movie companies are looking at that now for a slew of reasons. Yeah there is a big initial investment, but it is cheaper in the long run as:

a. You have the whole crew there.
b. You build sets one time.
c. Cheaper studio rental rates.
d. You can sign the actors to one contract, instead of
progressively higher ones if the movie is really successful.
e. As well as other things that in the long run will make it
cheaper.

They just need to get the characters right. And since the story has so many back plots and convoluted storylines that make up the backbone of major storylines later, they have to cover them as well. They also have to do it in a way where people believer that alot of the bad guys that Goku fights realistically become his friends and good guys as they do in the series. They really need a good writer who can fill all this in, do it subtly, and tie everything together cohesively without losing the audience.
