What are some.. general things that maybe should have been obvious.. or well known, that you didn't know until say.. adolescence.

For me, two major things come to mind.

I didn't really understand that Paul Simon had a singing partner,.. or who Art Garfunkel really was.. until I was 11, with the Concert In Central Park that they did.

I had listened to Simon's Still Crazy After All These Years Album when I was little.. because my parents had it from the time it was released in 1976, when I was.. six.. , but.. I thought that Simon had always been a solo singer, until I heard the Concert in Central Park Album, and then learned who Art Garfunkel really was.. and that he had been Simon's singing partner years earlier..

I may have posted this one before.. but.

I really wasn't aware of how ticklish women were until I was 12. The summer I was 12.. my bunkmates and I tickled two 19 year old girl counselors at summer camp. Maybe I had seen a girl getting tickled here or there before that, but it wasn't until that summer that I really focused on women being ticklish, even though I didn't know it was a "fetish" for me until I was in my 20s. .

Those are two major things for me.

What are some others?

Must be a lot of confusion around music. I could never keep straight whether the Beatles or Joe Cocker sang "With a Little Help From My Friends". It's the Beatles. Wait no Cocker. Huh, the Beatles? I thought it was Cocker!

I didn't realize that growing up was overrated until it was too late...

That's Growing Up basically Sucks.

Everyone at some point when they were a kid was like "I can't wait to grow up"

And when you do get older, and realize that it isn't all what you thought it was gonna be. And you miss your childhood greatly and would give almost anything to go back to those days.

There are some perks to being an Adult, don't get me wrong. But those childhood days, it doesn't really hit you until it's too late that those were the best times of your life.

Like my best friend got a N64 not too long ago. And while we were playing, all we did was reminisce about spending hours and hours playing that thing after school and on weekends. So much Nostalgia.

Since we've gotten older, I don't see him that often. I'm doing my thing and he's doing his. But when we were kids, it was at least 4-5 Days a week we'd be playing on that thing.

When I was little I thought that the company "American Flag Storage" was where the government stored flags. I now know that its just a storage company

On a personal/family note, and this is NOT to rant about my family.. just to post facts.

My dad was Paul Simon's fraternity brother in college. They are born a year apart, and were in the same frat at college. In fact, one time my parents were on a plane, my father saw him, sent him a note, and Simon came over, and was like "Hi, (My dad's first name).

My aunt could have been Mrs Ralph Lauren, if she wasn't so.. My mom and aunt went to camp with Mr Lauren, and he had a HUGE crush on my aunt. My aunt, however, wouldn't go out with him. He married another woman, and is still married to her. BADDDDDD decision on my aunt's part.

Speaking of Joe Cocker - just read an article where he passed away at age 70, supposedly from lung cancer (he had other issues). He had his day, and was made fun of by John Belushi on SNL. Like him or not, he was important back in the 70's, early 80's. RIP, Joe, you're in a better place now (with your friends).

I remember the Belushi bit on SNL. Wasn't Cocker on stage with Belushi? Didn't the two performers trade verses of "With A Little Help From My Friends"?

@Mitchell - Your dad went to school with Paul Simon? Yow! That's impressive, to say the least!
