This Guy Might Be The Chief Moron Of All Criminals.....

Yes,. I know I've posted on here before about idiotic criminals. I've had one post about a guy who gave a bank teller two forms of ID upon request after he had announced he was robbing a bank. This next guy, however, might be the all time self destructive criminal of all.

Joshua Munson, of Everett, Washington, is on trial for drugs. Serious charges.. of course, but this yakhole, as if he wasn't in enough hot water with the law, made his situation far worse.

Mr Munson apparently has exhibited violent behavior in the courtroom, and has stabbed three different defense lawyers assigned to him with pencils, and pens! Why a guy would do this when already facing such serious charges, is incomprehensible.

So, due to Munson's incredibly stupid actions, the judge in the case released all of the defense lawyers assigned to Mr Munson, and ruled that Munson must represent himself in the proceeding. Were I this guy, I would be terrified, to face drug charges, and assault charges on three different lawyers, that were supposed to represent me, and to have a court/judge rule that I have lost all right to having counsel represent me? How can this possibly look to a judge or jury?

Unless Munson can request a psychological evauluation to try and prove he is insane, or unless he proves to be the best self defense lawyer with no law license in the world, it would see that this guy is going to spend a VERY long time in jail, partially due to his original drug crime, and partially due to sheer stupidity, or maybe insanity, after what he did to his lawyers!

If anyone has a link to this story, and could post, it would be appreciated. This is seriously one of the sickest cases I've ever heard of.

That guy has serious issues. He might as well pleads guilty and go straight to jail where he belongs.

That's a sad story. I don't think the case is as simple as saying the guy is "stupid". It implies that he wants to stay out of jail in the first place yet his lack of intelligence prevents that. There are individuals out there that subconsciously or consciously LIKE jail. They don't think like you and I. For them being in society is the stressful part. No jobs, peers that are on the same level, 3 square meals, rent free, to put it simply.....no expectations. For those without family jail is a great place to make friends that will accept him felonies and all. In this competitive job marke I think you'll find MORE "stupid" criminals.

He's obviously a disturbed individual who needs to be locked up somewhere, but perhaps a mental institution would be better.

If this judges ruling results in conviction and is not overturned on appeal I'd be surprised.

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of council in his defense.

Could it be the judge in this case is playing right into the defendants hand?

The main problem of society!

Can a civilization - afford, a humanics liability, propositioned by the courts(public, judge and jury; both, respectfully?)... Maybe, if all the above were educated in finance - perhaps, a better system could be enacted!
