Those little mail icons in the left column

I still don't undersatnd them. I look at the key on the bottom of the page and it gives somewhat of a description, but not totally.

For example, why would a thread with 19 replies and 684 views have a different icon than one with 20 replies and 628 views yet the one with 20 replies and 628 views has the same icon as a thread with 10 replies and 356 views?

Please, can someone explain?

Jen, the icons provide several different info:

A closed gray envelope is for threads with less than 15 replies and less than 150 views.

As soon as a thread gets either more than 15 replies or 150 views, the same closed gray envelope has four "hair" on top.

Gray envelopes mark threads without new replies. If somebody has posted since your last visit, the envelope is open, and the color changes to yellow for the smaller or less frequented threads, and orange for the bigger threads.

A black dot in the center of the envelope indicates that YOU have posted in this thread.

And a padlock on the envelope means a closed thread, of course. Does this answer your question satisfactorily? 🙂
