Thought I might get fired this week......instead got a raise! lol.

Well this is a surprise.

After losing my temper TWICE at the CEO of my company over the last week - complete with pointing fingers and foul-mouthed epithets - (you know how I get, lol) - I figured this week MIGHT be my last. And who could blame them?

Instead.......they just gave me a raise! And an apology!!! Then I was told to punch out and take a nap! (ive been working since midnight last night, so maybe I SHOULD take a nap, actually) (TMF first, though...😉

It's still a lousy company, and I still am getting paid below the poverty level, a pittance, especially compared to how much I do, but still.... I'm a little thrown for a loop. I mean......is this a trap?..... maybe I get the raise, THEN they fire me?

I think this is a way of mollifying a disgruntled employee they need. It reminds me of the end of "Catch22" when they tell him "Just love us! Say nice things about us!". ha. Anyways.....drinks are on me tonight, friends! What are you havin'?! 🙂

Congratulations!!!! Just goes to show ya voicing an opinion even crudely isn't always the end of the world. And a raise is great for your resume when you eventually go for something else ya know? 🙂

That is excellent news! Congratulations my friend! It sounds like they realize that you are a valuable contributor to the organization. Maybe yelling at the CEO showed your passion for what you do, and maybe others were just telling him/her what he/she wanted to hear and you gave a much needed dose of reality.

This is why every corporation should offer tenure after working at a job for a certain amount of time.

That way people can't be fired unless the corporation has a GOOD REASON for doing so.
