1) Why is Dave2112 no longer a moderator?

2) Why was Haribish selected for Dave's replacement? Don't get me wrong, Hari's a great guy, but didn't he join like this year?

3) What's the significance of the gold star in Crystal Light's header?

Hi Drew,

I can't answer any of the questions decently, but I think Hari's been on here for quite a long time, he just had a different username (Haribo I think it was).

Plus, he's on here all the bloody time! 😉

I too am wondering about the significance of Crystalight's star.
 
1) Staff sometimes choose to step down. Venray and Hal are two past examples. Daves reasons are his own. He'll share if he desires.

2) We are always evaluating potentual new staff members from the membership. Hari was tagged sometime ago as a being a member that we felt had the right skill set to be an effective moderator. As we felt a need for more coverage he was offered the job and chose to accept.

3) It's an inside joke that involves their TMF radio show. Beyond that I have no clue.

Why? The questions in the opening post were serious and genuine, only one of which has been answered to the satisfaction of people actually curious about them.

For example, Myriads' response suggests Dave2112 stepped down, but doesn't actually come out and say it. Dave himself hasn't stepped up with any confirmation of a voluntary retirement.

So I will reiterate the remaining questions:

Can anybody confirm Dave2112's voluntary resignation from his seven-year position of SENIOR moderator?

Can anybody state for the record the purpose and meaning of the gold stars?

For someone who thinks photo manipulations, rick rolls, and other such things are ridiculous, you have quite an interest in this gold star business.

As for the rest, it's probably no one's business but Dave and who he feels he wants to share such info with.
 
Nope. I'm only mildly curious about the gold stars. I can pretty much guess what they are about. The reason for my persistance is because I find it interesting to see people so unreasonably set against anybody asking such a reasonable question. Thank you for demonstrating this principle so perfectly.

As for Dave2112's early retirement, yes I would agree with you that it's his business alone...IF...the action was voluntary. But what if it wasn't? What if his removal was like my recent ban, yet another notch in somebody's political belt?

Look, I've banged heads with Dave2112 more than enough times to know how he operates. If this were voluntary, he'd have posted about it. That's how he is. He posts about the tough times he goes through. He posts letting people know he'll be away from the forum. He's very open about himself, yet for some reason, he's not said word one about this radical change in status. It's not like him, and that's why I'm concerned.
