Hi folks. This was a piece that was just posted by Dark Convoy. I took the file and did a quick color job on it yesterday. Sometimes I can't help myself. I see a cute pic and I have to color it. Old habits die hard. Anyway, I hope it comes up clean for you. One of my browsers makes it look pretty clean. Another makes it look banded. In any event here it is.

I checked with Dark Convoy before I posted it.

WOW

:wow::yowzer: Wow that is truly awesome. Question, What program did you use to do that? So far I havent found any really good coloring programs. Not on that level thats for sure.

Answer to Dark Convoy

Hey Dark. Glad you liked it. I cleaned up the image as best I could in photoshop. You have to do that when you work with a pencil drawing. It's easier to work with an inked piece. I also changed the contrast there. I used photoshop to color it in CMYK before transfering it to RGB.
One thing is it turned out well because it was a great piece to start with. You've got a lot of talent. As for the color I've had a lot of practice. For the last 7 years I was a colorist for a major comic company. I left that to go into Real Estate. Working in the comic industry is no life. Low pay, bad deadlines, LOTS of pressure. It's just not worth it. Only a handful of people in comics make a lot of money. Most of the guys are in the trenches cranking away.

But I digress. 😀

I sell comics for a living and from knowing many in the comic industry can agree with BZ's statements 100%. It's a damned hard way to make a living.

Your work is good BZ, you are now the 2nd good colorist that I know who left for greener job possibilities. Odds are I've seen your work many times 🙂

Thanks BZ I try. Its funny BZ but your about the 100th person whos told me to avoid the comic profetion. (guess I should listen...) I just wish I could find some way to make a living with my art. Drawing TK pics is fun...just not a lot of profit in it unless ya got a cool little number like Yenny going for ya. Oh well Ill keep drawing and you keep coloring. Great job BZ.😎

Keep them coming

Hey dude, you keep drawing them and I'll be glad to color them. Maybe you can e-mail files to me for better scans. Anything is possible.

Yeah I hate to be rough on the industry, but you'll be a lot happier.

Hey Dark Convoy, I really like this pic. I tried to email you but it's not listed in your profile. When you get a minute, send me an email at [email protected], I wanted to talk to you a bit about your work. You and BZ make a great team :cool2:

Convoy and BZ, you've both done a wonderful job with this pic. If I could say a word of encouragement here...(stepping on soapbox and clearing throat...)

If this is what you like to do, do it! Don't worry about making a living at it. Maybe you can, who knows. Remember, Yenny started out small before she took off the way she did. Sara's just starting to come into her own, and I have big plans there. Maybe they'll work, maybe they won't. But it doesn't change the fact that it's fun, and an outlet for one's talent.

I think you should go with this. I feel that you could get a "recurring character" sort of thing going. Your artwork is different, to say the least, but it's cute and seems to have struck a chord with a lot of members of the community. I think you two work great together and should continue doing such.

Just my 2 credits. Best of luck in whatever you decide.😎

Thanks for the encouragement Dave. Believe me I don't take life choices lightly. I've been working as a professional artist for over 10 years. I'm tired. I just turned 41 and I realize that there are easier ways to make a living. Art is just too much effort for the return. That's way I'm going into Real Estate Appraisal.
I'm still doing some art on the side. I do a ton of work for the ticklish Superhero Yahoo club. I also have a couple of things brewing with a couple of other artists in the tickling community. It's just going to be at my leisure. Being an artist all these years has totally ruined my eyesight. I fight migraines all the time. Hopefully my upcoming operation will fix my eyes.
Good luck with your Poser work. I've played around it it myself. I know how much work it can be. I hope it really pays off for you. Take advantage of it while you're young. 🙂

Keep on keeping on.

BZ

Thanks Dave.
U maby right. Maby I should keep this character around and see what happens. BZ ya did a great job with this one and feel free to take a shot at any I do in the future. If this is a likeable character I may keep her going and see what happens. (Cant hurt to try)😀
B.T.W. What comic did you work for.

P.S. good luck with your operation.

Hay Convoy,

I don't like being too open on the web, but if you want to e-mail me I'll fill you in on what I worked on. I was at a company famous for Direct Currents; I didn't work on anything Marvel-ous.😀

Better a feather than a fist!

BZ, as someone who adores your wonderful work on the LoSTH site, let
me just say that the comics industry's loss is this community's
decided gain. As a longtime comics fan who sometimes is taken aback
the violence and nihilism in so many mainstream comics, the
playful (if deliciously wicked) tack that you (and Convoy) champion in pieces like this is delightful.

And I second the observation that you and Convoy make a splendid team.
You both should talk to Oblesklk. Comics history could be made here...

Hi Captain. Did you shoot that elephant in your pajamas? Of course how he got in your pajamas I'll never know.

Sorry couldn't resist. I wonder how many people here are Marx Brothers fans.
Anyway, thanks for the kind words. I just finished a ton of work for that club site. That will keep the club busy for a few months.🙂
I try to stay busy but not too busy. I'm into collecting GI Joes, and Model trains, I have a wife and two Lab mixes. Only so much time in a day.
I know what you mean about violence in comics. I remember DC did the Artemis mini series. Wonder Woman ends up going to hell to set her free. Anyway, she ends up getting tied to a post by demons and beaten with barbed wire whips. You won't see her in stocks getting her feet tickled because that's fetish art; but Wire whips you can have. I never have understood that one.
I am talking with Oblesklk about something. I can't say anything about it right now. I'm also going to be working on a couple of other projects within the community. It would be nice to do more with Convoy. We'll just have to see how it all goes.

Thanks again for the support.

LOL too funny.

Hmmm barbed wire whips? But no tickling? I can't say I would point the finger just at the comics industry, it seems to be the American culture in general; watching someone be tortured or shot in the head on TV 100 times before you're 8 years old is alright, as long as you don't ever see a topless female before your wedding day...when you're at LEAST 30 years old 🙄

Anyway, I am very glad that your experience with the comics folks didn't sour you SO much that you'd give up the art totally. I've yet to see your equal.

Thanks dude. It's wild, I haven't had this many people give me this much praise since the time I signed books at a comic show in Philly. That's the only time I actually had a line. Must have been the book I was on at the time. The last show I did I think I actually signed 5 books the whole weekend.Colorists normally don't get noticed that much. A lot of fans get us confused with inkers.
I really do thank everyone for the support. I'm a really shy person. You've got to know that after 7 years of working in the trenches it's nice to hear someone say they really like what you do. It makes all the long hours worth it.
I think that holds with everyone who posts on any of these sites. It's a lot of work to write stories, draw sketches, work in poser and keep up with web pages. I know there are a lot of lurkers out there. Everyone needs to show their support to all of those in the community that put out the work they do.

Big slap on the backs people 😀

BZ

Hey Dark,

You know it looks that way. I think you've struck a cord there. It is a really cute piece. When did you do it? Do you have something ready to scan in human form? I'd really like to see more of your work. Some furry stuff is cool for a change, but I'm not into furry fandom. I know it's very popular though. I've heard some artist that do that stuff get so bombarded with requests they get burned out.
To be honest I had to go to a furry site to make sure I was coloring it right. You know, is the chest fur white or the body color. That kind of thing. I actually got a wild hair last night and did a new version. I changed her fur and hair color a little bit and threw her in a Wonder Woman outfit. Turned out pretty cute. Just for grins.
I can see what some of the other people are talking about. I think you could have a lot of success with a series or strip. Do you ink your own stuff? Inking with a brush would really make this bunny pop.

Anyway, keep it up. I think you've got something going there.

BZ😎

BZ, you are THE best colourist (a word?) in the community. Bar none. How can I come in contact with you? Because there's a little piece I want you to colour for me to commemorate my (sort of) first year in the community doing cartoons. Would you mind doing that? Hope I'm not a pain.

All though I haven't really got any ideas yet BZ Id say its highly likely to see this character in the future. I did this pic a few months before I came here. As for humans I draw them too iv got a few that Im working on as we speak witch are all human but now that I know that there is a fan base for furry art Ill be doing both. I dont think that burning out is posible for me yet (Im only 21 if I burn out now im screwed) Also If THE BUNNY dose become a character dose any one have an idea for a name. That's my biggest prob. I suck at naming my creations. 😎
