Tell them my prayers are with them. LOL I know if were me, I'd be freaking out. When I went though Hurricane Rita after Katrina, we lost power for 3 days and my dad was like "it's looks like no power or AC for days, and you'll probably loose a majority of the food". My response was "WTF AM I GONNA GO WITH NO INTERNETZ??!!!"

Losing power is awful. I always take my electricity for granted, and then when it goes out, I notice all the daily things I use it for. When I get reconnected, I feel grateful. But after a day or so, I go back to normal living, and don't keep my appreciation level up.
I think I'm going to set a personal goal for myself to appreciate all the things in life that I view as little, but without them I'd be miserable.

I have just got contact with them they said they appreciate your thoughts and prayers. I need to clear something up though they have power, just not internet, phone and cable. There all working and have jobs and hope they can get everything taken care of

This is why I have the following feelings....

As soon as you can get your own place:

1) Get SOLAR.... not passive.. ACTIVE...then you not only have your energy company as a backup only, but you pay maybe $7/month if not $0 for electricity.

2) Never hook your main phone to a modem. I know VOIP is cheaper.. but guess what... if the power goes out.. you do not even have 911 ( not everyone has a cell.

3) always keep a hard wired phone in your closet ( as long as you do not go VOIP ). Back in the Big blackout in 2003 in NY it is the only thing that still worked... remember... no power.. no cordless phone .

Also I'm praying for them not because of their lack of cable but because they are cut off from the friends they care about and I pray they regain contact soon. 😀

There are lots of people and problems that need to be taken care of in the world.
Having a power outage is an unpleasant experience on a very hot day.
Apparently, it is not a power outage, thank goodness. The problem seems to be less urgent than first reported.
Although it doesn't appear to be a horrid situation, wishing someone well only takes a minute to do, and it's a nice thing to do.
I understand that you may not want to do that, and that is your choice.

I am at school working on some projects. Just wanted to check somethings to see how everybody was.
