[I hope this is the appropriate place for this question. There's no art accompanying it, so perhaps I should have posted this in the General discussion section?]
Anyway, regarding tickling art: I genuinely wonder if others feel as I do. You see, I almost invariably enjoy art that shows the situation leading up to or just before the tickling, as opposed to the actual act of tickling. I think it may owe to the difficulty of showing reactions to tickling through the traditional means. Anyway, my favorite illustrations typically show someone captivated, while their captor menaces them with a feather or whatever.
So, I was just wondering if everyone else had a particular preference*?
Would you rather see:
A) Illustrations depicting the act of tickling
or
B) Illustrations depicting the situation just prior to the tickling
*It's not even a hard-and-fast rule with me. If the artist is skilled enough, or just gets lucky with the expression, or captures sudden movements adequately, I can be highly satisfied with a piece of tickling art; but on the whole, the ones that I like the very best are the pieces where things are just about to erupt into tickling and laughter.
