Well since none of the producers have replied yet, I'll be the first to say what I know for a fact about it. In another post under tickling discussion atm there is talk of $210 for a 1 hour session at a fetish dungeon. Now I believe that you can get a lee for 30 minutes for 50 bucks but haven't tried it yet. I do know that on myspace Realtickling has his own myspace page where he is offering 1000. Yeah sounds crazy huh? He does say on there though that the girls must be ticklish for that kinda money though.
As for other costs, well you could spend the sky is the limit I guess, but for me I already have a bed I used as a teen which is great because it has bars at the head and foot of the bed. A camcorder is neccassary and I"m thinking 300 is the minimum one could spend on a camcorder. Maybe 200 for the same used model on Ebay.
Then there are the legal fees. You have to have a model release form which stipulates that you own the material not the model, and you must keep records of their age, like driver's license yadda yadda. I have heard that it is wise to have a lawyer just in case. You will also need a business license from your state government and you should try to get involved with the city's chamber of commerce just in case the townsfolk decide they don't like you anymore, you will have friends then.
You will have to have a business plan in case you need to borrow some money. Banks don't typically give out loans to small businesses that have no idea what they are going to be doing.
Advertising doesn't take much time on the net, but if you want models from your area it could be a small cost.
You will have to have a basic understanding of making websites or parts thereof.
The other expenses are, where are you going to shoot this at? If you use your own place, you might get a model knocking on your door at 3 am cause she thinks you might have some money for whatever thing she needs. So a studio or motel room is probably way more preferable.
Next, if you are going to make a tickling video do it right and have bondage involved (my opinion : P) Bondage gear is a small expense.
You should get insurance for your camcorder.
Maybe you want to trademark your company name?
And that I"m going to school to become an accountant, I know now that all of this stuff you can write off your taxes instead of taking a standard deduction.
Now, for what you will make. Well, unless you make your own website and take 100% of the proceeds you might be better off marketing your stuff through such places at clips4sale.com That site charges 40% of your sale on clips, and 25% for images and DVD sales. Still if you're making 10 bucks a clip that leaves you with 6 dollars. And I know that Ticklehorror was bragging not that long ago that for a little while at least one of their clips was in the top 25 selling clips there or something like that, so there has to be a market for tickling. One guy I asked, who has a store there, told me that he makes 300 a month, but he has upwards of 5 pages worth of clips for people to choose from. His clips aren't the quality that the bigger companies are so what does that tell ya?
I think that's all that I"ve learned by being interested in trying to get into this business. I picked up most of the stuff in this book.
