This is a question for tickle video producers. Is there any real money in producing tickling videos? I mean, do you guys have other jobs to support yourselves, or do the videos provide enough income to live comfortably?

Just curious.

i'm not a producer of tk films or amything...BUT....i gotta say those companies that do so must be doing really well......or why do it.I mean would you continue doing something as long as some of these companies have if you weren't making a pretty good profit?

I imagine it's gotta be quixotic these days for many producers.

It used to be, there were just a handful of producers making tickling-related material, and many of us were happy with what little we could find. I'm talking pre-Net days for the record.

Now, there's scores of producers, many of whom are really into it, but there's also so many ways to share data, that I wonder how quickly their clips and discs are copied, dispite the illegal aspects. Thus, with so much free stuff out there, many might just skip the payments altogether nowadays, leading to a certain unprofitability to the whole market.

The companies in the pre-net days also produced non-tickle videos. Many were other fetish related materials, such as spanking, foot worship, bondage with nothing else going on, etc. Tickle videos were only part of the whole.

Yeah. My early glimpses at tickling in Harmony and Close-up Concept videos was usually somewhat disappointing. It was just cool to see some actual tickling with tying AT ALL, back in the day. Sort of an affirmation of the whole fetish. Like, if there was enough of a clientele for these videos, then others must also share the fetish. As I say, I'm talking pre-Net days. Now, of course, it's obvious we number in the tens(if not hundreds) of thousands, and likely in the millions-range, if truth be told.

I think that now, more than ever, the people doing tickling vids really ARE into it from a fetish aspect. I'm talking primarily about producers like Ticklehell, Paradise Vision, RealTickling, and all. There's alotta producers just in it for the buck, too.

I believe than big producers (as FMC, Harmony Concepts, CalStar and others), get enough profit to live of that activity. Other producers (not so big), do it for to get some extra cash, enjoy tickling by themself, or a mix of both things.

I wonder if it ever gets humdrum for any producers. Instead of, "Time to make the donuts", it's instead, "Time to tickle the hotties(sigh)" for them. Just another day at the office, as it were.

People at the donut shops probably don't become sexually aroused from doing their jobs, though...

... unless there's some kind of a donut fetish I don't know about.

Now that I think of it, there probably is.

Well, I don't want to give away too too much, but let's just say it's best to stay AWAY from the glazed donuts at Dunkin' Donuts, okay?

Say, Paulie: I recognize the two fellows to the middle and left in your sig, but who's the Asian chap?

Well since none of the producers have replied yet, I'll be the first to say what I know for a fact about it. In another post under tickling discussion atm there is talk of $210 for a 1 hour session at a fetish dungeon. Now I believe that you can get a lee for 30 minutes for 50 bucks but haven't tried it yet. I do know that on myspace Realtickling has his own myspace page where he is offering 1000. Yeah sounds crazy huh? He does say on there though that the girls must be ticklish for that kinda money though.

As for other costs, well you could spend the sky is the limit I guess, but for me I already have a bed I used as a teen which is great because it has bars at the head and foot of the bed. A camcorder is neccassary and I"m thinking 300 is the minimum one could spend on a camcorder. Maybe 200 for the same used model on Ebay.

Then there are the legal fees. You have to have a model release form which stipulates that you own the material not the model, and you must keep records of their age, like driver's license yadda yadda. I have heard that it is wise to have a lawyer just in case. You will also need a business license from your state government and you should try to get involved with the city's chamber of commerce just in case the townsfolk decide they don't like you anymore, you will have friends then.

You will have to have a business plan in case you need to borrow some money. Banks don't typically give out loans to small businesses that have no idea what they are going to be doing.

Advertising doesn't take much time on the net, but if you want models from your area it could be a small cost.

You will have to have a basic understanding of making websites or parts thereof.

The other expenses are, where are you going to shoot this at? If you use your own place, you might get a model knocking on your door at 3 am cause she thinks you might have some money for whatever thing she needs. So a studio or motel room is probably way more preferable.
Next, if you are going to make a tickling video do it right and have bondage involved (my opinion : P) Bondage gear is a small expense.
You should get insurance for your camcorder.
Maybe you want to trademark your company name?

And that I"m going to school to become an accountant, I know now that all of this stuff you can write off your taxes instead of taking a standard deduction.

Now, for what you will make. Well, unless you make your own website and take 100% of the proceeds you might be better off marketing your stuff through such places at clips4sale.com That site charges 40% of your sale on clips, and 25% for images and DVD sales. Still if you're making 10 bucks a clip that leaves you with 6 dollars. And I know that Ticklehorror was bragging not that long ago that for a little while at least one of their clips was in the top 25 selling clips there or something like that, so there has to be a market for tickling. One guy I asked, who has a store there, told me that he makes 300 a month, but he has upwards of 5 pages worth of clips for people to choose from. His clips aren't the quality that the bigger companies are so what does that tell ya?

I think that's all that I"ve learned by being interested in trying to get into this business. I picked up most of the stuff in this book.

The Asian guy is Takashi Miike, one of the greatest directors ever to walk the earth. (I'm a film geek).

Ah! I thought so! He is quite brilliant, from the handful of his films I've had the chance to see.

As a small producer, I can say if I didn't enjoy the subject I wouldn't be doing it--this is certainly not something you could even come close to using as a primary income.

Regarding cletus's comment about another company paying $1000. That was actually a scam. The myspace page was a fraud posted by some guy duping people and has since been removed.

the hollywood brother would think there is big money in it. with some vhs tapes going for 40 or 50 that is srious cash. also with clips4sale chargeing by the minute are not most tickling companies making million off of people here o nthe forum

It's certainly a job I'd show-up early for, all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, coffee made and ropes all laid out... 🙂

Indeed. Miike is a cinematic genius.

I shudder to think what even the briefest tickling-scene from one of his flicks might encompass.
