hi. we recently upgraded to a "faster" server so that you could download our clips as fast as possible. wouldn't you know it they just installed a "new pipe" and its having "slowing" problems.
just got off the phone with them and they say a day or two at the most to get back up to speed.
when running at full speed, your download capabilities should be as follows:

56k modems = pretty darn quick.

Cable modems - hot damn fast!

thanks for you patience during this. honestly, it WILL be faster in the end. really, ha ha, i promise. 🙂 thats the whole reason we made the costly switch.

hey TIB, i think your math on the 56k modems is amiss. you claim 17kBytes/sec, however...8 X 17 = 136 kbits/sec....since the best possible throughput on a 56k modem is 53kbits/sec, 17kB/sec is impossible. you CAN get 136kbits/sec throughput on a modem using heavy compression...HOWEVER, since the clips that they are downloading from you are already just about fully compressed to begin with, you cannot compress them further...kind of like if you zip an mpeg file which is say 500kbytes, it zips down to say 495kbytes...just not any more compression possible. id say youre realisitically looking at 50kbits/sec max., 50/8=6.25 Kbytes/sec max.

you're right dtrell. it still confuses me after all this time. "kbits" and "kbytes" etc. i tried to refigure it all out again just now and my head started hurting, ha ha, so i edited my post above to something much easier. lol. thanks.

LOL...good one TIB..the numbers you had for cable works out about right, at least for mine...200 kbytes/sec would be 1.6 Mbits/sec...i actually usually get about 1.8 Mbits/sec on mine....but the dial up modem was definitely too high. glad i could help.
