I have a certain fondness - OK, a very great fondness - for stories featuring tickling inflicted by a machine (a specialized tickle-device, or a robot or computer). Who else here likes this sort of thing, and why?
In my case, I think it's the idea of mechanical tirelessness, remorselessness, and thoroughness that (ahem) tickles my imagination.
Also, the very passionlessness of machine-tickling is often an advantage to my mind. In a lot of stories, the 'lers turn out to be vile sadistic bastards (even in stories I write, when I don't want them to be so). So it puts the vileness back a step to have a machine perform the actual tickling.
So what about you? Or if you don't like machine-tickling in stories, what don't you like about it?
