Hey everyone, I don't know about you but I always thought a "tickling game" would be a great thing to have. I know there is one text-based game out, and I personally loved it. I found a program, game factory, allowing one to make games with no programming. I have the program and it is amazingly easy. I am pretty sure you can download it: here (http://www.clickteam.com/gb/products/download.htm). I would do it myself except I suck at animation. Sound with also be a great thing too add to a "tickling game", and again this program makes it amazingly easy.
Also, I program a little in c++ and I am descent in Visual Basic...if anyone has any kind of ideas or layouts for games that would be great...but my games won't have any pictures or sounds unless someone can supply me with them (again I am a terrible artist). I am not sure about anyone else but I would love to see more of these games come out, it's a nice change of pace from the usual stories, pictures, and sounds, it's almost like a combination of them all! Just thought you guys would like to hear about this, and if you are a descent artist, at least think about this Idea. Thanks again, bye!

OH MY GOOOOOODDDDD!!!!

Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou, and thanks some more! I've been looking for something like this for years!!! I love making games of my own, and this utility looks like the perfect thing for me since I suck at programming too. You are 'da bomb! Just for you I think I've have a go at a tickling game, I think I owe you that much. I can't wait to try this thing out!!!! You rock! If I wasn't just on the other end of the phone line right now I could kiss you! Thanks again, you brilliant person!
😎

Sounds?

I have a small project studio in my house. What kind of sounds would you need and in what format?

Audio for the tickling game.

I know I already posted this, but it has disappeared. I would like to volunteer to create the real life audio for this game. Those who know me are aware that my vocal reactions to being tickled are quite authentic and exciting to most ticklers. Please include me in this project.

Game

For the past year I have been trying to make a decent tickling game on my TI-Calculator (text-based) but have never been happy with the progress. I can draw and do all sorts of CG stuff, so I think I'll look into this. If you need any CGs, I'd be more than happy to help out. Just drop me a line. Good luck and be sure to keep us all up to date with your progress.

Lets get this project goin!

Alright, if I can get the audio and pictures I think I could make the game with that program. It is not just drawing pictures though, they are animations, and they all have to be a certain size and etc. etc. etc. Any Ideas for some kind of plot in this game? Once I can get all the details organized and etc. I will be happy to throw together the "programming" part of this game...please any suggestions are welcomed. njjen3953 Thanks a lot for volunteering to do the audio! I thought it would be hard to find someone to do the audio and I am thrilled that you answer so fast. As soon as we get the layout of the game organized, I will contact you. Also...I had a cartoon character in mind for the game...anyone have any ideas/sketches? Post them here and we can get some opinions on who to use etc.

P.S. Lynchy, thank you very much for your comments. I would love to see the progress of your game as you go along, and I will help you out in any way that I can (I have been using the program for a little time now and know somewhat how to work through it). I am pretty sure you can save the files and send them over E-Mail, so keep in touch ([email protected]). While on that subject, when we get the game going, if anyone downloads the program on my previous post I can send them my progress of the game. Considering the animation it might take a while to release a completed version. Again any comments or ideas are welcomed please respond.

Almost forgot...

Guitman I almost forgot about answering your question. I am figuring that wav would be the best format for the sounds, but I will look into it to see if any other smaller formats are compatible with this program. Again the biggest question right now is in what format we want the game to be...like a layout for it. What should the plot be? what kind of controls etc. This program is easy to use but it doesn't perform miracles so I wouldn't get your hopes up thinking we will get a first person shooter where you walk around launching tickling feathers at girls, but we will get something better than text based. If anyone has any ideas within those parameters PLEASE post them...thank you all again for your help.

I can get you smaller wave files, but the smaller the file, the worse it sounds. MP3 would be optimal if the program would play them. They don't sound as good as CD quality (not that you need that for a game), but they sound better than a wave file of the same size. Also, see if the music can be played in Midi. Those files (since they only contain instructions for playing music and not the sounds themselves) are much smaller than using recorded music.

Hows it comming along?

How are we doing with the whole game Idea? I for one have not gotten any ideas on plots or layouts or anything for that much on this idea since my last post...please people I need your input. Guitman69, I have found that it plays wav's, aiff's (have no idea what aiff's are...), and midi's fine. I can not get it to play Mp3's. Hope this helps. Everyone, a couple of people have volunteered to help with a game (not including myself) but we need ideas. PLEASE respond with any kind of idea you have...be it a character or entire layout for a playable game, anything smaller or bigger will help.
Thank you for your input,
shelper

First big question

Fist of all, we need to decide if this game is going to be from the tickler's or the ticklee's point of view.

Should the hero or heroine be going around tickling people or being tickled? Once we decide that, the story idea will come along a lot quicker.

BTW: aiff's are a sound file used mostly with Mac's. They take up just as much space as wav's so we should probably use wav's.

First Big Answer

Well, I was thinking a little of both. The main character would have to be a woman, and she could be the tickler most of the time but sometimes fall victim to the tickling.
Or, we could try an entirely new layout for the game. We could make the main character a ticklish (of course) girl, who has to cross an obstacle course (i.e. jumping, ducking, etc.), but lets say the pits are full of feathers or something instead of lava as in most other games. This kind of game would probably take a lot of animation, but I have seen some games made like this before, so I might have an idea of how to make it. Another problem this Idea could have is it might not involve tickling enough.
Maybe we could have the main character walking around until she meets an enemy, then it could go to some kind of tickle fight or something (almost like Final Fantasy games). These are just ideas, and would probably take a while to make (couple of weeks? maybe longer?) but I think it would be worth it. Please any comments on these ideas, or any other ideas or layouts are overly welcome.

My story line idea

What if the heroine ( a very ticklish girl of course 😉 ) was a space explorer. She crash lands on this planet and must search for the parts for her radio to call help (the parts were scattered in the explosion).

Along the way she meets tickle crazed natives, strange animals, on plant life that trap her and tickle her. We could do it like one of the old adventure games. If she has the right item to give her tormentors, she leaves with another piece of the radio. If she doesn't have it (or we could even make it a task she has to perform, like a mini game) she gets tickled to death and you have to start over.

Also along the way she could come accross people that she would have to tickle.

That's a great Idea I love it. Does anyone think they could get animation and/or sound for this game that would look good? We could even integrate tickling into the mini games (how does dodging feathers sound? LOL). I bet I could get a simple game like this to work if I was provided with the right animations and sound.

Also, guitman, maybe ewe could integrate some kind of energy bar into the game. So every time the player begins getting tickled her energy bar goes down until she can escape, ort until she dies. Just shooting out Ideas...what does everyone else think of the space idea and etc.?

You know I was thinking about the energy bar thing just last night.

Also, we could put her in situations where she has to be tickled in order to accomplish a task. The key would be to figure out wich ones were needed before her life bar goes down.

I've got the sound effects covered. The only thing I would need is sounds of women laughing.

Tickling Game

You guys are really coming up with some great ideas.
Remember, my offer to do voice overs still stands.

Jen

DAMN ANIMATION

I'm glad we've got some of the possible plot down, and a place to get the voices, but one major obstacle still stands.

Animation.

This will be the hardest thing to do. If I was even the least bit a good artist I would try and do it, but even my stick people look terrible. We need a good artist to help make this game good.

ANYONE that thinks they could make animation for this game, which would be a lot of small pictures with a little bit of change in between each one, please contact me or post. It is annoying but would also be very rewarding!

njjen3953 could I get a sample or something so I could match it with images an animation person might make? Just send to [email protected] please.

guitman, that's what I was thinking too. Although this would make the game ten times better it would take about 5 times as much animation to make it look good. We would have to have different stances of the girl, everything from energetic and healthy to all..."tickled out" and almost dead. There would be a lot of other issues we would have to address as well, but as long as we can get the animation I think it would be well worth it!

Again anyone that is a good artist please contact me or post on this thread about drawing for this game, because without animation it isn't really a game.

Thanks everyone for their help please keep posting Ideas!

If you are still around and want to make that game(providing you already haven't) I finally have a wav for you.

Volunteering too

I know NjJen has already volunteered her vocals for the project, but I know male 'Lees are hard to find so if y'all decide you need male laughter or whatnot I'll volunteer.
