P50,
If you don't mind me asking, how is your general health ? Have you had tests for hypothyroidism ect( or similar conditions that cause weight gain and lower metabolism) or are you on any meds that have weight gain as a side effect? for myself, I just switiched antidepressants due to the fact that weight gain was a severe side effect. Even though I ate less then ever and excersized like a whirling dervish, the pounds started to creep on, and I didn't want a medication to destroy quickly what it's taken me almost 2 yrs to begin to achieve, so I asked my dr to place me on an alternative med.

While it is not a weight loss regimen per se,get a copy of the ADA diet for diabetics. It places limits on sugar intake and can result in weight loss.

ABSOLUTELY!!! I have been following this plan. I am losing weight and am now no longer a diabetic. I am off the diabetes medication and now struggle to keep my blood sugar up.

Don't mind at all. Let's just say I'm getting sick of being sick.

I just did a brief web search for "ECT" and started thinking horrible things about you. I hope that your "ECT" was actually a typo for "ETC".

Anyway, you are not the first person to suggest hypothyroidism. I asked for a test, then my carping-thieves "health insurance" company decided to put the iron curtain between me and my doctor (now my ex-doctor, thank you insurance company) and the company that did the report refused to send me a copy (but did, of course, send me a bill for the unpaid charges).

I do know that I normally awaken with a body temperature below 98-F.

I have done as much layman's research on the thyroid as I can. The internet is occasionally quite useful. An underactive thyroid is indeed a possiblity.

Yes, that's the story; and I'm not on any meds.

You are still legally entitled to your medical records despite the fact that you're no longer a patient of your "ex-doctor". If they ran the test, then you should be able to obtain your records with the results. Actually, if the results were abnormal they should have been ethically and legally bound to let you know even if you're no longer a patient.

Suppose there's a three-way argument between me, the lab, and the insurance company, and nobody gets paid for their work. See the problem ?
