Ticklish Voice Overs

With the exception of Minnie Driver, none of us had had a real curiosity of the ticklishness of certain animated Heroine voice overs. So far here's a list of voice overs I've always been curious about

Linda Larkin (Princess Jasmine)
Glynnis Talken (Julie from 'The Maxx')
Venus Terzo (Black Arachnia, Princess Lana of Capt. N)
Renee Jacobs (April O'Neil, but then again I already know the character is ticklish)
and She-Ra's Voice actress.

LOL -- when I read your subject heading, I thought you were going someplace else with this thread! I thought you were referring to the use of voice-overs in tickling videos! Anybody else here notice that some videos have the annoying quality of having a 'disconnect' between the action and the sound? As if some stock footage of laughter has been grafted over the video? I hope *somebody* else has noticed this -- or I'm going to feel like some sort of conspiracy fanatic!

I've noticed that too, but I see it sometimes in bad B movies as well. I think it's just poor editing. Some tickling producers probably are recording audio and video seperately (which is a great tool if you can afford to do it, and don't fuck it up) and they sometimes don't synch them perfectly. I noticed it a lot especially in SOA videos (I use them as an example because I'm pretty sure they don't exist anymore.)

Thanks for the second! Stands to reason that something like this would never get by a video producer.

Whenever I see this, I assume that the ticklee's reaction wasn't very good, so the producer is trying to fool us into thinking the ticklee is more ticklish than s/he really is -- and I feel I'm getting short-changed.

Stepping back from this, it's quite strange, huh? My mind is fully willing to accept the absurd fantasy of Count Tick-ula strapping a helpless wench onto his fictional tickle-gurney -- but I cry foul when I suspect the damsel in distress is faking her response!

Hey MN,
I have also noticed some of the synchronization problems you talked about.Perhaps Jeff has explained them all.....I would hope so.
Also,it would upset me too,if i were watching something,expecting a certain ingredient,and discovering it was faked or not up to par.It's different if there is no expectation of reality or accuracy.

The Babe

Wanna hear something odd on video? Go rent the John Goodman movie THE BABE. There's a scene where Babe Ruth (Goodman) and Kelly McGillis (I think ) are wrestling around on the bed and he is laughing... listen to the audio... you can HEAR Kelly say "Don't tickle" as she laughs, even tough the film shows her laughing but saying nothing! Apparently, it all took a few takes to get right, and the video for one take was very good, but the audio from another take worked better, so they put a spliced together scene like that into the film. The "bettter audio" take must have had Goodman tickling McGillis for the authentic laughing reaction....
