Ticklishness and Temperature

I just made an interesting observation, and was wondering if anyone else has any experience with this. We have recently had unusually cool weather where I live, meaning that we are in an unheated 65-degree house wearing flannel shirts, etc.

One evening when we were alone I decided to tickle my partner -- and, even though I tickled him through a heavy shirt and undershirt, he literally jumped into the air! His ticklishness seemed greatly enhanced, and when I reached UNDER his shirt and began to tickle and poke his waist and tummy over his nice, slippery undershirt, he almost had an orgasm right then and there!

I have never seen a reaction like this before, and wonder if anyone else has observed a correlation between ticklishness and temperature or the amount of clothing worn. Perhaps the concentration of warm air next to the skin has something to do with it, or maybe it's the coldness of the ambient room air?

Giggling and poking for science,

Temperature

Hi Miss Valerie.

Regarding this topic in my own experience temperature is a really important fact. My feet or my ticklees feet are umbearably ticklish when warm and dry, for example when you are in bed sleeping.

Cold feet are almost insensible, that is also true when very moistened or wet. At least this is my own exprience.

i have found...

... that when a person is nice and warm, and then you tickle them with cold hands, ice cube, etc., the reactions are intensified. they appear to more ticklish than usual. i think the real reason is the difference in temperature of the ticklee's skin, and the lower temp of the tickler.

It seems that humidity has alot to do with it. The dryer the air, the more ticklish the skin is.

My experience agrees with this--Mistress Zara sometimes keeps a bowl of ice on hand, to dip her fingers in, so that they will be cold as she tickles me. It does increase my reaction.

Thank you, everyone, for your replies. I do recall that my hands were somewhat cold due to the cool air, and probably the combination of cold fingers on warm, dry skin was what enhanced the experience 🙂 I am going to have to experiment with dipping my fingers in ice, etc., to see if I can get such a wonderful response on demand!

Love and laughter,
