I figured it was time to post another review of what I've been up to with the site. Sooooo, here it is..
*** NEW!!! -
It's time for spring cleaning and TK-411 is no exception. In addition to ongoing updates, I've done a bit of housekeeping and restructuring this past month. Here's what I've done so far...
+ The restructuring of the Links section is now completed and more recently closed sites removed. I've added descriptions for all sites, so that it's a bit easier to find exactly what you want. I've also added a page to the directories for old closed sites that we have the original URLs for. (These are not included in the links totals...1,584 to date.)
+ The links directory has also been formatted and linked directly from the TMF. So, if you ever want to check out the directory and can't find the link, just pop into the links forum here, click on the TK-411 at the top of the page and it will take you there.
+ The new TK-411 Rescue Archives yahoo group is now open and accepting members.
+ The Articles section is now located in the Library, keeping all of the reading materials together.
+ The Gatherings section has been renamed the Events section since there are more than actual gatherings taking place. That section is also in the midst of major revamping. I have things restructured. The currently known scheduled events are plugged in on the by date listing page. Information on hosting your own events is also included in this area. I'll be updating the individual event & by locations pages if/when information is made available to us.
*** IN THE WORKS!!! -
I've accomplished quite a bit the last few weeks. Quite frankly, I'm pleased by the progress. But, I've got lots more I want to get done. So, what's coming?
+ This week brought the last of the new links to the directory from more than a month of exhaustive searching as I added more links to the Producers & Community pages. As always, I'll keep watching for more and add in any that are sent in. So, keep checking back! There are currently 1,584 links to explore - 231 new this update!
+ Next week, I'll begin the process of gathering any files not already readily available elsewhere from the old abandoned groups and adding them to our new TK-411 Rescue Archives yahoo group where you'll be able to get them without having to worry about sifting through all of the spam and infected files that has taken over so many of the old groups. (Stories from these groups will also be added to the main site library.)
+ I'll be looking up any saved pages from the old closed sites listing and saving anything we find to be made available once e see what we have to work with. We already have one old site owner who has offered to make the entire original site available to us. If you own one of the old closed sites on the list (or one that I couldn't find a URL for) and would like to talk about making your old site available, just e-mail me at [email protected] and we'll let you know what the game plan is.
(Both of the above will be long-term, ongoing projects. Some of what will be available and the timing of that availability will be dependant upon servers and individuals outside of our control. We'll gather things as we're able.)
+ Once I've got a good chunk of the above projects done and the remaining site reformatting done, I'll be starting work on the library again. There are hundreds of additional stories coming from sources all over the net. If you've been trying to think of some great summer-time reading to do, we'll be adding titles in all summer long. So, you'll have plenty to choose from!
+ We've got a few little surprises in store as well. But, if I told you here what they were, they'd no longer be surprises! 😛 So, check back often and enjoy!
