TK-411 update status & a question for story lovers

I just wanted to keep folks up to date on progress. The last couple of weeks, I've had to slow down on things some because of my chronic health issues getting in the way of things again. I'm hoping to get some artwork/anims in the group before we leave for NEST next Thursday. But, there's a lot of everyday life stuff I need to catch up on as well. So, I can't guarantee how much I'll get in there.

I'll continue to plug away on things when we get back either way. Drew is off the week following NEST. So, I'm not likely to get much of anything done during that time. Once he's back to work, I'll be...

- doing another links update
- doing another events update
- continuing to add things to the group
- preparing a little "Blast from the Past" surprise for everyone

In the meantime, I have a question for those who enjoy stories.

As some already know, I'll be revamping the Library listings on the main site beginning sometime next month. We already have listings for both true and fictional stories. I'm also adding a third listing that will have stories listed by author's name. I hope that this will make it a bit easier for those who wish to follow certain authors to do so.

In doing a bit of preliminary work, I've noticed that there are several stories out there that include underage characters in purely playful NON-sexual tickling situations. In the past, I've erred on the side of extreme caution and left out any story that includes even innocent underage content. But, since we are now more of a community resource than simply a little personal site, I feel an obligation to be as inclusive as possible.

Here's my question...

Should I include these stories and simply indicate which they are by use of a different color button for the sake of those who may wish to avoid them?

Or...

Should I continue to exclude all stories with underage content as I have in the past...no matter how innocent they may be?

I was going to wait until after NEST/vacation to do another update. But, I didn't have a ton of links to add this time around and had a bit of time this morning. So, I did another small links update. The rest really will be waiting until next month. 😉

Also, if anyone has opinions on the question I posed above, please don't hesitate to share. I've gotten some response in Tickle Theater and the UKTF, but none here yet. This site is here for YOU. So, I really want to know your thoughts.

A ticklish question, indeed!

As someone who, in the dim, distant past, once wrote a Miranda Fortune story where the oh-so-clever, but haplessly ticklish thief is laughingly outwitted by three prepubescent girls she's allegedly babysitting, I would welcome its inclusion. As I noted in the story's intro, I didn't think that it contained anything that couldn't play quite comfortably on the Disney Channel.<p>

However, I understand the sensitivities of folks who feel that minors should not be principals in stories that feature tickling, which, as they see it, can't help but inspire erotic feelings. And I'm well aware of the fears of many that their inclusion would send us down a slippery slope leading to intolerant torch-bearing mobs pursuing us with tar and feathers. (Hmmm...well, one outta two ain't bad, but, I digress...) <p>

So, I vote "yes" for their inclusion with careful vetting and appropriate flagging, as you suggested. However, I would not be miffed if this turned out to be a minority opinion, and said stories continued to be excluded. When you've worked hard to build a website, erring on the side of caution to avoid the fury of self-righteous hackers is no vice... <p> Oh, and btw, thank you for your generous and rewarding efforts. You're flat-out among the TK community's goodest guys. <br>(...which may not be grammatical but tickles this observer to note, anyway...) 😉

Thanks, TeeHee. Haven't seen you posting much in a while. Good to see you around. I tend to agree that stories without actual sexual content should be fine. Perhaps an alternate location for them would be the best way to go, however. I'm not sure...which is why I'm asking folks to share their thoughts.

At the moment, I'm leaning towards leaving them off initially (but saving them to review), while I get things caught up in the library. Then, if I decide to pop them in there later, I'd have more time to actually read all the way through them and be sure they're clean.

For anyone who may consider saying that stories only take a minute or two to read through and I should just do it now, keep in mind that I have thousands of stories to go through. Those little minute or twos really add up...esp. since I'm dyslexic and a slow reader. 😉
