Hi frends,
Okay, I've received several emails asking me varying versions of the following:
Are you pissed at the TMF?
Are you leaving the TMF?
Why would you start a forum when we have this one?
Let me begin by saying the answer to the first two questions is a resounding "no". I love this place. I think it's the coolest tickling site in the world. And i have no intention of leaving. When anyone asks me about tickling sites, this is the first place I mention.
Now as to the why...
The first and foremost reason is that I wanted an easy way for people to send stories for the archive without doing the email thing.
Secondly, here is something very few know about me. I am colorblind. I can see colors but certain shades blend together. The grey background here give me fits of problems trying to read the posts. I can read anything in bold here, such as the quotes, but the normal post text blends into the background and I have to look at it for a very long time to make out what is being said. The topics, which are in red, to me are like trying to read while wearing 3D glasses. So my ritual for reading posts has become.. first decipher topic, find and go into a topic i want to read, then click on the "Printer Friendly Version". This version allows me to read just fine but is a royal bitch when there are a gazillion responses. Then, if I want to reply, I have to go back and find the post I want to quote, and then enter a response (which is the easy part because of the white background). It takes me probably ten times longer than anyone else to get involved with and continue keeping up with a discussion. I have this same problem with the grey in the new chatroom as well. So I don't frequent there as often as I used to simply because when the room is full, it's extremely hard to follow.
So this being said.. I'm probably the only one who has this problem here, or one of a very few anyway. Instead of pissing and whining that I have difficulty reading here, I decided to try starting another forum with a white background. I figured there's plenty of room in the TK community for more than one forum. And perhaps there are enough people who love to discuss the same kind of topics that Rio and I do that a few would have enough time in the day to visit our place too ,and, I'd have a place where I can just jump into discussions.
There is *no* controversy. None.
Anyway, sorry for the windbag of a post, but just wanted to clarify the situation to those of you with the questions.
